They also seem to forget that we have overseas fans like shaks who book flights and hotels for these games.

Why do all goalkeepers now think that they can play in midfield? I’m still going to complain about Meslier though <cheers>

These two mistakes were worse and supposedly two of best keepers in the game

I don’t think they were worse, both trying to be clever like an outfield player. Meslier’s was basic goalkeeping / positioning that you wouldn’t expect your under 18 keeper to make. Every time I watch it back I have simply no idea what he was thinking of? Who the **** did he think he could cross it to. They literally had no forwards in our penalty box.

Meslier is bang out of form at the moment. He cost us at Everton. The 2nd goal at scum was saveable. The 2nd goal against Scum at home is bad positioning.

Overall he has been great for us but over the last few games he hasn't been great. It's almost like the players take it in turns to be blatantly at fault for goals by just doing random dumb stuff that a child would do. It's very frustrating.

I’m with London in principle. The sweeper keeper concept these days is being taken to new extremes. The ‘best’ example is Aro Muric at Burnley. He’s basically an outfield player with gloves. When they fck up it looks horrendous… but the managers just accept it as a price for the benefit of it providing an extra player to beat the press and to start build up play.

I’m not saying I agree with it, Muric isn’t a great goalkeeper by anyone’s measure, but he’s a very handy footballer. Alisson is a good footballer AND a good goalkeeper

Meslier’s distribution sucks, so he needs to do the basics well. He doesn’t do them consistently enough for me. Appreciate others see it differently.

I’m not as angry as some about the Everton goal. It was a clear mistake - as people say there was no one to worry about in the middle - and even if there was his starting position was still too aggressive… but you can see why he wouldn’t be expecting a shot from there.

I’m more concerned this season about numerous dropped/missed crosses and mistimed punches… some Pretty soft goals going in in numerous games… palming or blocking shots back into the centre of goal instead of away from goal. I keep hearing he saves us points with his saves… and he does make some very good ones… when he’s in the right position. But, in my view, he’s cost us more than he’s saved us.
