"Hey, I found an old demo where we covered a NIN song. Now all we need is someone to pretend to be our frontman in the video, since he died nine years ago..."

They toured like that. The replacement singer wore a mask that looked like the dead one:

Quite morbid, but they got permission from his family, apparently.
Still an improvement on having Tripp Eisen in the band, though.

In the video it appears they just got a stand-in, because on the rare occasions the face is in focus it doesn't look like the Frankenstein mask

Ironically, the guy filling in on vocals for live shows was previously in Dope, whose guitarist was...Tripp Eisen

This video has just appeared on Youtube, charting that well ploughed Prog/Punk crossover...

Fripp is a big fan of the boys.

He actually created a punk / new wave band in '80 call League of Gentlemen and released an album. Not massively dissimilar to Elephant Talk era Crimson, but interesting crossover.

I don't recall that at all. I'd need to be well out of it to enjoy more than that track. Coming at it sane and sober isn't for me...pissed, I'd love it.

On the back cover of the first 2,000 albums were Eddie & The Hot Rods (supposedly by accident but in truth, a Jake Riviera marketing stunt), including Paul Gray on the far right, although he wouldn't play on a Damned album for a further 3 releases. That can't have been the case too often...unless you know different?

According to the Grauniad, Woodstock '99 was going perfectly well until this exact moment...

    Specifically this one

When East meets West there's going to be one hell of a mess? Still unfortunately true.
There's another song on the album called I Rule The Ruins...

I've just come across this on the Stranglers Memorabilia group that I'm in on FB. I know it's The Damned but I think the post was highlighting how much some of the old memorabilia is currently going for. A lot of it is probably down to the fact that it came from Roger Armstrong's archives but even so £4,100 for a poster that isn't even remotely mint does seem a trifle excessive! Still it's the old adage about something only being worth what someone's prepared to pay for it! Just wondered if @"Thanks for that Brian" had considered a sneaky bid in view of the Paul Gray connection?! :bandit:

Tbh, I thought Dickie Davies died years ago, can't believe he was 94! Always loved this single, in fact still got my original 12", not that it's had an airing recently. The B-sides were crackers as well!
