Chris Wood is missed

Since he left our form has gone to ****. He was clearly more crucial to our play than people realise.

I always figured he did a good job. Totally agree too many people latched on to his goals or lack of and failed to take into account his work rate, and how he linked play so well and essentially was the ‘Bruno’ up front. Big loss now that he’s gone and can easily see why Forest wanted him.

 

Good comparison with Bruno. He created the spade for others to exploit. Sometimes you don’t know what you had until you lose them.

 

This season's league stats:

Average points per game when Wood has started = 2

Average points per game when Wood came on as a sub = 1.93

Average points per game when Wood didn't play at all = 1.4

 

Don’t get me wrong I do like Wilson but Wood was a vital unsung cog in our well oiled (not in the Chippy sense) machine.

 

Is he good at digging out a result?

 

Guaranteed our survival even before kicked a ball, gave us focus up front which the team massively benefitted from and scored some key goals. An excellent signing tbh.
