Valid point. But anyone who employs Bellingham as a DM deserves shooting quite frankly. Even Southgate didn't at the World Cup!
There were so many things to dislike about Jones' reign. How little he appeared to rate Perraud was right up there.
I’ve broken my brain a bit because it is what I have been doing on FM23. Perhaps I deserve shooting for that but I’ve been using basically a 4-2-4 with 2 DM, 2 inverted wingers and 2 strikers. Needs the 2 DMs otherwise it is far too attacking. Also I can’t cope with looking at how the game would show 1 DM and 1 CM (whether zig zagged or one behind the other). What is more likely is the team that buys him either redeploys and existing player to a more defensive role or just makes do with who they already have there for one more year. If he is truly available he is the sort of player that clubs might change their recruitment plan for. Because once he moves for 100m+ he isn’t going to be moving again any time soon
Lewebster, any time you fancy repeating your triumphant thread-building and offer us up a Leeds thread, that would be lovely!
Liverpool need to overhaul their midfield. Lavia next to Bellingham would be unreal for years to come. I really don’t expect him to be here next year, even if we stay up. He could go to any of arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, United. He’s an upgrade on Hojbjerg so spurs could make a move. Or failing that even one of the European giants. I genuinely think he’s that good. Could easily become the best DM in the world.
The challenge I see with Lavia is if buy back is £x and, say, West Ham or another non-competitor are prepared to pay £x + y the can't Man C activate buyback and immediately sell him on? Vin
Him and his agent would need to agree to that. Not sure if there is any reason why they would or wouldn’t. Other than pride? He might not want to be purely a profit booster for Man City? No idea really. If Man City activate the buy back and someone else bids more I don’t think he has to go there. Pretty sure they have a sell on percentage for this purpose
Well.. hopefully he stays for as long as humanly possible, because it’s an absolute joy to watch him. He reminds me of Morgan in his prime, which at 19/20 is absolutely ludicrous
Despite the differences that occasionally surface on these threads I think we're all united on that one. I'm sure it would be in his interest, ours as well of course, for him to stay another season at least.
I’m out of breath and a bit teary after that! Loved the way Rubén’s first words in the dressing room were: “You’ve done an amazing job, but it’s not enough.” Exactly the right tone, no room for complacency after a great win. I think he can keep us up, the players seem to have bought into him anyway.
They will, they’re just setting the table first with the narrative. Beat Leeds this weekend and we’ll be primed for an announcement early next week.
We can do it. 100%. With that positivity and if Ruben keeps managing games like that we can do it. I thought we were gone before but now we have a fighting chance if the whole club pulls together
