Sunak should not be making any concessions. The NI Protocol was always unworkable as it traps Northern Ireland in the EU with a trade barrier to the rest of the United Kingdom. The government should push the Northern Ireland Protocol Bill through Westminster and just tear up the Protocol and leave the Republic’s agri-economy to suffer the consequences of its politicians being puppets to the Brussels Politburo.
Fun that is obviously not going to happen unless Sunak plans to be out of Downing Street and living with his wife in their California retreat before May.

I don't think that is what he meant. Probably more likely thinking along the lines that every lorry in and out of the UK will find French customs having a leisurely luncheon when they turn up at Dover or Calais.
You appear to have a problem with geography. What was being discussed was the border between the Republic of Ireland (a separate dominion) and Northern Ireland (part of the United Kingdom). Do explain what that has got to do with “French customs”? That is all an EU problem. So the reality is here that you are a desperate Remainer trying to prove that two plus two is five.
But the Irish are EU too. They like an even more leisurely lunch than the French, complete with pints o' the black fecking water.
