I had a look at the kcom website when I read a few of the prices mentioned on here. You're really being stitched on pricing by not being/having been able to shop around- Vodafone would give me 500Mbs/£30 ,910Mbps/£45. In the absence of fibre options, I'd definitely be looking into a 5g router if there's coverage.

Large areas of Hull are without the internet as KCOM's systems are down. Many shops are 'cash only'. How very novel, yet totally reliable :emoticon-0125-mmm:

    Absolutely astounding listening...

I'd go see but they're older than I am now...

It's not that reliable since hardly anyone carries cash any more, which is why those businesses will be desperate to get their internet connection back up asap so they stop losing out on business.

I don't leave home without my phone. With which I make all my electronic payments.

And a debit card in case my phone battery runs out.

And a credit card for if my bank card is refused.

And cash in case all electronic transactions fail.

And shiny beads for any post-apocalyptic, bartering type situations.

And a gun in case everything has gone totally tits up.

    Prepping. It's basic commonsense really.

on the question of cash, any and all moves for any country to become cashless must be resisted.

cashless societies are such a bad idea that i consider the notion to be nothing less than evil, nothing less than attempts by repressive political rulers to exert more control over a population.

    we can't let it happen.

i'm not asterisking my pants, but don't go thinking there won't be attempts to make it happen somewhere. if you think there are not "higher forces" around that want to try it, you are wrong. the wef and ccp are two examples not above trying it.
