Just to put a bit of meat on the bones, Graham Botterill who worked for the same company at the time and then started Ferriby Marine, sadly passed away a few years ago, was in his younger time on City's books at a young age, but still had connections there. We had a big job refurbishing a Russian fishing factory vessel in Hull, and the crew were keen to have a football match. Graham remarkably arranged Boothfrry Park under the lights one evening to play the game. It was a very memorable occasion, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience, we won 2-0 and I scored the second goal in front of 20 people in the south stand. Oh, what joy.

Final of the Snooker World Championship at the Crucible Isle of Man TT Wimbledon Final (I can't stand tennis but it'd make me happy to know I've denied a hooray Henry a ticket) State of Origin series Ashes in Australia Champions League final World Cup final Tyne-Wear derby at Sid James' Park Boca Juniors vs River Plate at both La Bombonera and Estadio Monumental El Clasico at both the Bernabeu and Camp Nou Old Firm Derby at both Ibrox and Celtic Park Milan Derby at both the San Siro and San Siro
Ye I would like to go to the Isle of Man TT a mate went a few years ago and he said it’s terrifying seeing the corners and just brick walls No wonder there’s the loss of life.
Just watching the videos on YouTube makes my bumhole pucker up, especially when spectators are right by the side of the road with their heads hanging over a drystone wall I just googled it and apparently there've been 265 deaths since it was first held in 1911. The deadliest year was 2005, when 11 people died, and 1982 was the only year without a single death
Pretty much all the City related ones have already been mentioned. Isle of Man TT - indeed as mentioned and still to do, luckily I have a mate who's from there and has promised to act as tour guide whenever I want, so will take him up on that one day. Agreed the videos are mental. British GP at Silverstone - to do Le Mans 24 Hour - to do Daytona 500 and Indy 500 - to do Making mad passionate love to Halle Berry as she exits the sea after a hard swim (well that's sports isn't it) - to do I am very fortunate in that two of my absolute must do's were achieved last year - The Masters and The Open at St. Andrews, and I stood on the Swilcan Bridge. Tick, Tick, Tick. I walked the course four times that week, just need to play it now!
I've been quite a few times, it's a fantastic week; as a biker even I'm stunned at the speeds these guys do - this clip shows how dangerous it is, Guy Martin from Kirmington bins it at Ballagaery (aptly known by bikers as Ballascary) doing c170mph - he escapes from the crash and subsequent fireball with barely a scratch on him.
I just turned 60, and have attended many great sporting events and have largely satisfied those wants. Still, there are some things I could realistically see and really want to see. In no particular order: A home Hull City football match at MKM (or Wembley would do, I suppose!) A St. Louis Cardinals World Series game A St. Louis Blues Stanley Cup Finals game That's about it. Anything on top of those would be gravy.
