Tony Mowbray has welcomed supporters back to the Stadium of Light for Saturday's contest with Bristol City in his Red & White programme notes, sponsored by Rorack Shipping Ltd.
Good afternoon and welcome back to the Stadium of Light for today’s game against Bristol City.
I’d like to start by extending a warm welcome to Nigel Pearson and his side, and the Bristol City supporters making the long trip to Wearside.
It’s great to be back at home today following our midweek win at Queens Park Rangers.
I was delighted with the team’s performance – we changed the system and a few players and once they got to grips with it, we caused the opposition problems and, on another night, could have scored more than three goals.
We were all really pleased for Jack Clarke – we asked him to play more narrow than usual to exploit the space in between their centre-backs, and it was a strong performance from him.
Anthony Patterson also made a crucial save from the penalty spot, and the way he commanded his area took pressure off the defence.
We’ve had two midweek fixtures in a row now with a third coming next week, so it’s important we utilise the squad to keep the level of energy and intensity high.
The games keep coming thick and fast, and we’re expecting another tough challenge today against Bristol City.
They are unbeaten in eight league games now – they’re a difficult side to play against, but the players have prepared well and it’s a great opportunity to make it three wins in a row.
With your incredible backing home and away, I’m confident and hopeful we can keep accumulating points and going in the right direction.

    Enjoy the game,
    Tony Mowbray

Because they need to balance their own squads and finances.

Let's be honest, we love Cirkin and Clarke, but it might take them until their mid twenties before they're good enough for Spurs (if they ever are). They can double the price if they want but then they get stuck with these players in their reserves until their contracts run out.

Anything less than double the price would still be cheap for any player we've signed so far.

Raining in Sr5 now. Should be a decent surface to pop it about if they have done a bit of work on it from last home game.

    It's absolute madness ...

... like a football club has broken into the SOL and taken up residence.

I'm a little surprised Pritchard isn't starting and maybe even Cirkin, but great team regardless.

A bit unintendedly brutal from Frankie there in his interview with Gooch... "you'll always have a place here on SAFC Live if you can't get back into the first team" <eek>
