That's what I thought, but whoscored shows he scored against Coventry on 21 Jan. I don't even remember that.

I was going to say he scored from a cut back at Coventry

Great win and dominant attacking performance!
Hopefully will help the confidence that they did it from a goal down as well!

Our 2 22year old strikers did well up top tonight. They can do a bit of everything and seemed to link pretty well. We looked a better team for the variety up top.

Pukki apparently didn’t train with the rest of the subs at half time, perhaps he has a knock. Got to give the young guns a chance from here on, Pukki could be an ideal sub to bring on to chase a game or capitalise in a tiring team

There were several really satisfying things about that game:

    - Bouncing back from defeats

    - Coming back from falling behind

    - Finally making good on dominance

    - Idah is starting to show glimmers of when he looked dangerous in the Premier League under Farke, before injury - I know some people question his ability and I have sympathy but I think if he can stay fit and gain confidence there could be an excellent player in there. His agility and skill on the ball is notable for a tall guy.

Still lots of mistakes, though. Our keepers are vying to be the most calamitous. Giannoulis and Onel looked good, but that merely underlines my suspicion that they are “flat track bullies” so can look excellent against a struggling or even mid-table Championship team but the moment they are under pressure from promotion candidates let alone Premier League teams they lose their zing. But plenty to work on.

I would put Krul back in goal. He makes silly distribution mistakes and gets dropped as soon as he commits one but he is a sound, technical keeper who commands his box and organises his defence. Gunn is a shot stopper, reluctant to come off his line at corners and crosses, flaps when he does and easily beaten at his near post - a cardinal sin for a keeper. I thought that the back four looked a lot sounder tonight and that Sara McClean and Dowell combined well There was more end product from Hernandes but still work to be done with the strikers. Better performance but promotion material - nowhere near.

    Wagner's view:

"It's important [to get the home win] but not only to have the first win, I think what counts for me is the manner of the win. I think we can say we were back to our norm, to our strength, to what we have shown in some games before today. From my point of view it was one of our best, maybe the best which we've seen. We've shown that we didn't get affected by being 1-0 down, something we have spoken about that we have to trust and believe in ourselves, that we stick to our principles, and this is what the players have done."

"And then obviously they scored three wonderful goals, had a lot of further good clear-cut chances, and a lot of box entries, defended very well on the front foot, kept them away from our goal. Overall it was a very good performance."

    Hull's Liam Rosenior:

"They may have been on a bad run at home but that doesn't alter the fact that David is a very good manager and he has some very good players to call on. I would certainly expect them to be in the top six."

I heard a stat that we haven't lost a game this season when he wasn't in the side .

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results

He is starting to look like the Brazilian superstar we hoped we signed since Wagner has had him on the training field

I agree. He's been given a definite role as a pivot between attack and defence by Wagner and he seems to be loving it. When we regain the ball in our third he provides the fourth man in front of McLean and the CBs either carrying the ball or passing out to the FB on either flank. Once the ball is in the opposition half he becomes the attacking playmaker. If Sargent moves forward, taking defenders with him Sara slips into the space created to pass the ball to others or to shoot, as happened with his goal last night. His pass to Sargent for the final goal was a good example of his playmaker role. As you say, at last we're beginning to see what we paid all of that money for.
