I think all but the most optimistic of fans would agree that over the course of a season, the "Big 6" will end up in the top 6 positions, in some order. Man City, Manure, Spurs, Chelski, Arsenal, Liverpool, would be my expectation. But outside of the top 6, it really is there for the taking. Obviously, as it stands, we are in pole position, but as the season develops I can see this becoming a very good scrap. I hate to admit it, but even Sunderland have a squad capable of competing at that level. (I predicted them to finish 7th before the start of the season, with us finishing 17th, shows what I know <doh> ). But who is going to get that 7th spot and potentially European football? As far as I can see, there are 7 genuine contenders.

Us - goes without saying, great start, put ourselves in a great position.

Mackems - got the players to do it IMO, if they can sort out tactics and style of football they could make a charge.

Villa - Only beaten this season by Man City and a stupid red card decision v WBA. Could draw too many in the end though

Norwich - surprise position in the table, have all the makings of a good squad and sustaining their good form, unlike Swansea IMO.

Everton - False position at the minute, be sure that they will start catching up with everyone come february.

Stoke - home form could get them there if they get knocked out of Europe soon, really has been bad for them.

QPR - loads of expensive new signings top attacking options, real threat and pretty confident they will be minimum top 10.

Think that you can add Bolton to the list... they had a tough fixture list but are really improving.

I voted for us but I think that we can beat either Liverpool/Spurs or Arsenal for 6th.

Take the Stoke game out of the equation and you would say that they have got worse. Didn't they recently struggle past Wigan at home and lose away to Swansea and lost at home to Norwich? They will do well to survive.

Honestly don't see how Liverpool have a guaranteed top 6 spot. I think they'll have a battle to keep 6th at best.

Edit - sorry, I misread your post.

I do not think we will be end up higher than 13th or 14th and we will only do that if we tighten up at the back in January

    Interesting.

I looked at everyone of the list and genuinely thought "Oh, we should be able to do better than them". And I don't think many neutrals would disagree.

Haven't seen much of Norwich really, can't pass a judgement on where they'll end. But they do seem to put up a good fight each game, especially the big ones.

Only the most arrogant and delusional of supporters would vote for themselves to finish top of this group: wait a minute..<whistle>

    That's alright, easily done <ok>.

In terms of Norwich, 7th will be out of your reach. However I can realistically see you getting as high as 10th, but probably more like 12th. You have a very good manager!

We have a squad capable of a top 7 or 8 finish, with the exception of being a little light up front but not the manager to get us there.

Bruce would **** himself again and pull the emergency stop cord, as he has done for 3 seasons in a row now, if it looked likely to be him.

Could the mags finish top 7? Tell you what, I certainly wouldn't bet against them on current form. 14 games unbeaten since last season is terrific form.

Am I the only one on here who rates Fulham? IMO have more chance than Norwhich and QPR. Probably on a par with the mackems.
