Interesting nugget on Marsch that he spent six weeks shadowing Ralph at Staplewood when he was out of work before Leeds… Edit: Was at Leipzig in 2016/17, not at Saints. But still…
Yep I would agree with AB there. Just hope we can get this done and dusted ASAP to allow him maximum time with the squad.
Our players who have been alienated latterly under Jones will be back in fold, with everything to prove. It`ll be interesting to see who he starts, given that he has had a close outsiders view and perceptions of our squad for the last year. And he looks and behaves as a manager should.
Feel’s like a breath of fresh air compared to the crap we’ve had to put up with, especially over the last 3 months. Plays Ralphesq football but from what I’ve seen, at a higher tempo and looking at a couple of videos, he looks like a real motivator and puts an arm round the players, which was apparently Ralphs poor points. Have to start the USA USA chants at St Mary’s but with SFC SFC
I know he has the RB style of play in terms of pressing and a high line, but does anyone know what formations he has favoured in the past? Will he be going for 4222 like Ralph, or will we just have the 1 striker with players either side?
Well, I’m excited as I can be for a manager who had a 30% win ratio at his previous club that has a similar quality playing squad to ours!
Hopefully get a new manager bounce for a change! Anything better than Jones. Does smack of another poor decision though, heard all this talk of systems and what they like about previous roles with Jones. The body of evidence, Leeds in the prem, shows he’s probably not good enough. But hope that’s just me being pessimistic regarding the board and their decision making. Again, I would literally see anyone as an improvement on Jones!
The fact that we've liked Marsch before he went to Leeds is a positive for me. Maybe Semmens has been able to have more input this time around.
If he's the chosen one then get him in and training the team to play how he wants them to. **** knows if it's a good appointment or not, but I'll be supporting him (or whoever) until there's a good reason not to. If his chosen formation begins with a 4 then he's already got my blessing... The last however many weeks have been so depressing footballing wise that I just want the club to get on with it, see if we can salvage a little dignity on our way down.
