Hello all, what are your views on the political unrest in Bahrain (well the whole arab world it seems) and its effects on the F1 calandar? We have final testing in a few weeks time before the opening of the world championship. but after the GP2 asia event got cancelled there are fears that that the F1 race will get posponed too. I havnt read up on it yet and why the revolt is happening but I always thought bahrain was a prospering nation so I am confused why its people are angry. Anyway what are your views and do you think the race will go ahead?
This never would have happened in Magny Cours, they should switch the venue while they still have time.
It's not looking good is it. Bernies comments are worrying. The "the danger is obvious isn't it, if people wanted to make a fuss and get worldwide recognition It would be bl**dy easy" show's his concern, in stark contrast to Todt's feelings that it could still go ahead and not to over react. Then Rajab for Bahrains Human Rights centre blatantly saying that "for sure F1 will not be peaceful this time" makes it worse imo. As for asking the Prince for safeguards, 5 dead hundreds injured, How safe would they be ? Not safe enough imo.
