this game used to be known as the friendly derby but in the Premier league era bitterness has lead to this becoming the derby with most red cards in the Premier league history. current tally stands at 23
despite this being the longest running derby and having most cards it also can be low scoring. no current player from either side is high up in the scoring charts. origi had been on 6 but salah is only on 4 and Everton can only boast michael Keane on 2 goals. the record is 25 as stated before.
the first derby I remember is the one at anfield South. 1986. the first league match I remember was a 3-1 win with mcmahon scoring 1 and rush scoring 2. what are others first memories of the derby??
another interesting point is how rare it is for a bitter to accept transfers between the clubs. Steve mcmahon was a famous example. really good replacement for souness imo. most recently Barmby and xavier and Sander Westerveld.did the same. currently Everton have 2 though you'd hardly say the did much for lfc. conor coady is a true red Andy lonergan was one of those weird klopp signings and of course Sean dyche is a massive red.
Everton fans love to boost about anfield however Everton were founded in 1878 and only moved to anfield in 1884, they were taking advantage of a mayor of Liverpool John holding owning the site and of course being their chairman. like all good bitters the Everton board fell out with holding 8 years later and were turfed out of his site so really they were merely tenants. in 1892.holding founded a new club and the rest is history
liverpools offical founding date is 3rd June 1892, John Houlding created Liverpool F.C. after Everton move from Anfield, following an official takeover of Everton was refused. Houlding however had earlier register the company as Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd to Liverpool F.C on the 26th january 1892 this renaming gives us lfc but also speaks to the major dispute that occurred due to Everton board being a bunch of cheapskates
now in the modern day, the important aspects of this upcoming game need to be discussed. First the ref Referee: Simon Hooper. Assistants: Adrian Holmes, Mark Scholes. Fourth official: David Coote. VAR: John Brooks. Assistant VAR: Darren Cann. so.this is basically an utterly.inexperienced ref at this game. he's referee's only 1 game for each club and only vert few prem games this gets worse on var where the guy on the job has reffed even less in the prem and barely ever did var. so this is absolutely set up for complete ****housing by Everton.
now Sean dyche effect. his first game saw a change in Everton system and players pickford Coleman coady tarkowski mylolenko macneill dacoure gueye onana iwobi calvert-Lewin 451 for Arsenal with an emphasis on packing the team with big men and kickers not what Everton have anything but. if dcl is really out then this poses a slight.issue for dyche but he will be happy to wait for lfc to give a set price to his side (I can see numerous flops out wide) I'd be putting money on a tarkowski goal. it will be interesting to see if dyche drops coady at any time for.mina as coady is not much in the air.
lfc team.is decimated with rickets more than injuries. old age has firmly set in thaigo injury imo is a blessing in disguise for us.as he simply.wont track a run the space for us if there is any will be wide. I would play this side alisson trent matip gomez robertson salah fabinho bajectic Elliott nunez gakpo get wide men down the channels and run them and play down there. no more split cbs or full.backs miles.up Park. they must also go wide. pump the thing down the wide areas and chase Elliott to play lw to cross at the two big men and aim for coadys slot.
now the crowd. anfield needs to support klopp. **** the team. support klopp. they need to get on the referees back big time. the advantage we have is game time. Monday night. there will be more locals.than day trippers in. let's call it like it is. our away support is louder than the home support because day trippers are not there. European nights as special.as day trippers are not there. we need the crowd rocking.
finally I still predict 0-1 as the scoreline as ie now faith in these scoring against Everton but and very confident we will throw one in.
