Hopefully there will be a positive to take from today either way. A win and we cling on to staying in this league. A draw or loss and hopefully the board act and sack Jones, again, increasing our chances of survival.
See, a draw would be a horrific result for me today. Not good enough on the pitch and likely sees Jones stay on. I'd rather lose than draw. So hopefully we win!
I’m not convinced he’d get the sack even if we lose so the only way there’s a positive from the game for me is if we win. Even a good performance and a loss isn’t good enough at this stage.
Particularly looking forward to seeing Sulemana (though sadly I won’t be able to watch this one live). Feel like he has something possibly special about him.
Thank you for the positive messages this morning, feeling slightly more up for it having read these. COYR
He’s not going to keep us up though. The best we can expect with Jones is that we go down fighting. In that event I think they will keep him on in the championship. Will be interesting if we see a dramatic change in approach now he’s doing his thing. What do you think we will see? Do you think players out of position was his thing… or outside influences?
There is no way I would want to see us lose. Post match decisions, if there are any, will be made on the overall performance, whatever the result.
It's a really odd one, because it goes against every fibre of a fan's being, to *want* their team to lose. I certainly don't want us to lose, because I just can't. I want us to win every game we play, and I stupidly believe at the start of every game that we can. Saying that, if we do lose today, and that creates the change we're largely expecting, then it won't hurt as much as it usually does, put it that way.
Well, no it won't. I think a draw would simply postpone any decision further regardless of performance.
Never want us to lose....one win could lead to another. If the manager has to go I would always rather it was a considered decision when we are safe.
Yeah, I would never, ever want us to lose. Give me an awful 0-0 over any sort of defeat. But if we had to lose, then I would prefer a heavy defeat over a narrow defeat. Increases the chances of this being his last game.
I guess we're going to find out one or another over the next couple of weeks. Personally, and I know this is not a popular thought, but I would like to see a significant improvement today, next week and beyond, but I recognise that NJ has very limited room for failure, quite a lot of it down to him, so even a couple of decent performances will probably not be enough to avoid the inevitable.
Just really hope the fans go to firstly support the team , rather than firstly to have a go at or about Jones
I think the week’s break has done us a ‘cooling off’ favour on that front. If this had been Tuesday or Wednesday, it would have been way worse.
