I've been waiting all season for Arsenal to show their true colours but tbf they've maintained a pretty good standard so far. I hope they don't falter now, don't want to see the PL having to go to the trouble of stripping City of yet another title.
it's the Leicester syndrome everybody waited for Leicester to implode or just go party and fall away. they won 5 in a row 1-0 scrapping like dogs to pull away and them people finally accepted it was happening. arsenal are young and energetic. (mostly) last week the met a bus, 451 bus with dyche picking "reliable" men who will stand in position and scrap. their only guy to score much of anything gray... dropped. pickford (20mins per goal.kick) Coleman (tuck in tight) Coady (will throw body at ball at least) tarkowski (tall burnely man) myklenko (no option) iwobi lw, will run all day onana brick ****house dacoure in from the wilderness wtf was lampard at??? gueye macneill (classic burnely man) calvert Lewin a pretty much classic burnely line up but he only has one big lad to hoof the ball at. the fact he wouldn't trust gray speaks volumes. personally I hope this continues as it gives us a small chance to stay in game. if they play 451 and we don't throw a goal in then I can see this coming down to one mistake or moment... and that will favour Everton currently. lfc to be done on counter 0-1 result is almost inevitable here. klopp had a big meeting with everyone but things.must change in terms of systems and personnel to make this change imo.
Wolves game is not ideal comparison as: a) we gifted wolves 2 goals, be it "luck" or poor clearances or whatever". we have not YET gifted Everton a goal (as in YET) b) wolves didn't so much park a bus as fall apart second half when we actually started trying. They conceded 5 massive chances that we processed to blaze wide or fluff, including one another ref or VAR official should be giving as a pen) Salah missed 2 sitters. Keita missed, nunez missed 2. I fully expect it to be far harder get a chance to miss against everton. c) wolves were at home., everton will be away. the difference for each club is massive. We will have home support backing klopp. I said that wolves had a good sighter of us in the home game and replay. they were bossed a certain way in both games but they were dangerous on the counter. We again bossed them but threw in goals so they had the ideal situation to just barely hang on and defend. They knew what to expect and where to counter. Everton will have long dyche experience with us and derby 80s reffing on their side. I expect it to be almost impossible to make a chance as we play far too slow and i fully expect full on wind ups form everton players seeking red cards on bajcetic, nunez etc. I fully expect there to be no space at all centrally but for us to totally ignore the width and play trent et al right down the middle. 0-1 is my prediction as a result. We might get lucky for once but in general i find the harder you work and faster you play the more luck you get. **** teams rarely get luck on their side as the opportunity for a bit of it is rarer.
We need more people saying we will win in order for the universe to conspire, render and manifest. We will win and play magnificently.
We won’t 1) because it’s MNF 2) because we are playing awful 3) because it’s a Derby 4) because they are playing Dycheball
last week v wolves there was a handball on the line. in ye olden days it didn't matter if a man got an advantage it's red card and pen. var.looks and shrugs. today. West Ham just had a man drag his hand along the ground and stop the ball like a keeper. no pen for Chelsea, var shrugs. remove var if this is the case or remove the refs from it. another draw for cheslea, really poor after fast start. Potter now under serious pressure due to all the spending.
what has advantage got to do with it ? the only questions were a) was their a deliberate movement of the arm to the ball - traditional handball b) was the arm in a "normal" position - additional new rules which only seem to apply in the box.
a) is the deliberate side of it but if you gain serious advantage its a pen like the spurs pudding with his hand up in the air in the cl final. he didn't mean it but it was still a pen. if you are on the line and block the ball with your arm it's stopping a clear pen. the one today for West ham is outrageous
well imo a) was a no and your second point is just wrong as the difference between the 2 incidents is that the Spud had his arm in the air which is considered an unnatural position there is no provision in the rules or guidance that if by hitting the hand which gives the defensive team an advantage it is a pen and red card as that only applies if the criteria are met . Think you may be thinking that it is the same as if their is a non deliberate "handball" by an attacker which leads directly to a goal it is ruled out .
