The Premier league and its legal team are useless and nothing will come of this . It's nothing more than a shot a cross the bow of other clubs
Held up but in the end I watched the cat case and it was clear they were punching above their weight . It's going to result in plugging holes for certain other clubs and city will pay a fine or something of no consequence.
There’ll be no retrospective action, the PL hasn’t the resources to deal with that. My guess is around 20-30 point deduction and a massive fine, plus (like Chelsea) a timed embargo on transfers. It’s effectively going to be one year disruption, to ensure they survive (their cash flow is important to the PL), but is enough of a slap on the wrists to deter others.
Same with juventus..Liverpool struggling, Chelsea struggling and spending crazy money. I think I can see what's coming . Building their reasons !
In future clubs won't put there fiddlings on official emails. Be on private accounts or WhatsApp so they don't get found out.
Everything leaves a mark though, so not as straightforward as that. Besides it’s not just the emails - that’s what Der Spiegel got. It’s the accounts submitted and how the PL can now see how some stuff just doesn’t add up. As I say, the PL are pretty foolish in the first instance letting so much slide. They aren’t coming out of this covered in glory.
That never actually happened though! Initially they were going to have their disciplinary hearing on 4th May to discuss a possible penalty of a points deduction. However, there wasn't time to rearrange the play-offs so they held the hearing after the play-offs were complete, which Swindon had won. The penalty was the equivalent of a large points deduction that meant instead of finishing in a play off place they finished bottom - and so were relegated one division (instead of being promoted one division). It was still just the equivalent of a points deduction though. The first bit that is usually forgotten is that Swindon appealed against the punishment and WON. It was deemed that the points deduction equivalent was excessive and when a smaller equivalent was applied it meant they stayed in the same division instead of being promoted. The other bit that is often forgotten is that in reality the play-offs were null and void, meaning it should have been the team that finished third promoted instead of the beaten finalists, Sunderland. The team that finished third? Newcastle United. We were robbed more than Swindon!
