Marcelo Gallardo seems to be one of the favourites alongside Iraola. Iraola is the choice from ones in work and Gallardo first choice for those not in work. Gallardo has a top pedigree but decided on taking time out when he walked away from Rive Plate in October. I think the word gamble will apply to whoever is given the job, even if it was Tuchel or Pochetino. So think we should all just cross our fingers and hope Orta has got everything on the candidates what we are not aware of, but he made a mess of the last fella’s appointment. I am exited by both these candidates simply because they play good football, score goals and defend well.
But I thought I had a reputation of doing just that when posters on here pick stats to support a statement they make. I'd rather provide the fullest picture I can without making any comment regarding my opinion, and let everyone else who reads my message to decide for themselves. I only looked into what you posted, because the way you posted it suggested to me that he had been at Cyprus for 2 months, and then got sacked for not winning a game. I'm sure that was not your intention, but rather than someone other than myself read your post and be misled into the point you were trying to make, I find it easier to provide a more fuller picture, so they can make their own mind up. Given the amount of times I've said I am anal when it comes to factual information being posted on here, I am surprised that you were surprised that I picked you up on the post
Really risty you can be so negative sometimes. Bielsa was a beautiful vintage Ferrari, but it broke down in the end. This guy is a new shiny Bielsa with a few more horsepower, they’ve tweaked the chassis so the back end is less twitchy and it’s loaded with gizmo’s… head up display, for spying and heated bucket seats. Yes there are rumours of a few issues during development, but they’ve been ironed out during production, it’s red, shiny and has a prancing horse on the bonnet. What’s not to like? And if it breaks down, it’s still under warranty and we can get another one. No shortage of bielsa wannabe’s on the market. Do you really want the Dutch Jesse clone? He’d fail his MOT (see what I did there ).
I was waiting for the too negative comment because someone points out concerns If we were appointing Lampard or Big Sam would it be okay to be negative then, can concerns be classed as negative only when it suits? Lampard with a 52% win percentage as Chelsea coach, he must be great?
Slot Iraola Gallardo Seems nailed on they are the three candidates, a huge gamble no matter which one. To be honest, Gallardo would be my third choice out of those. I think first choice Slot, I can’t give any explanation why, more a gut feeling and he knows Sinisterra I was hoping to wake up this morning with a fantastic tweet from Romano wondering how we managed to pull a magnificent capture out the bag, underwhelming is the word of the day
ah well I have form I guess when you sack your manager in February I guess every choice is a risk Of the two linked I’d take slot. Not because I prefer marsch ball to bielsaball - I don’t though no one believes me - but because there’d be less to change and we don’t have time on our side.
But of course I would then pick you up by saying that was from 4 years ago and he had been in a different job since then in which he had a 54.5% loss rate and that big Sam's loss rate was even worse than Fat Franks
Same regarding Slot Gerardo Seoane Was a name mentioned on the who do you want thread, I’d have said he was promising and with his stats I’m surprised he is out of work
As I know nothing about all three I’d go with the one with the most experience because that’s what we’re going to need. He won’t have many games to get things right, specially as we’ve seemingly given up on the two scum games.
Thing is, his press conferences will all be about the players needing to get into their groove, need time for the players to get to know their positions. Our midfielders need to play in the hole , and our attackers need to make full use of the channel and defensive midfield need to recess when our centre halves go up for set plays. Also we still have a vacancy for the left back position. That's probably all the synonyms I can think of for "slot" without looking them up
