Just wanted to comment about my visit to Anfield on Saturday and offer my thanks. Firstly I would like to thank the fans who were warm, friendly and very knowledgable. I enjoyed a pint in the fans area outside the away end chatting freely with your fans. It is without a doubt the best welcome I have had anywhere. I then took my son up to see the memorial to the 96 to pay our respects. Its something that I just had to do as did many other Swans fans. I remember seeing events unfold on tv like it was yesterday and I wanted my son to understand what it meant to the people of Liverpool and how those lost should never be forgotten. Inside the ground and I don't know if you're aware of this but there were signs welcoming us saying "Anfield welcomes Swansea fans". It was a really nice touch, something your club didn't have to do but did. It's things like this that set you apart from the rest. The stewards and Police were friendly and relaxed even having a laugh and joke with us. As for the stadium, you don't need the likes of me to say what a privilege it is to visit. I've been to all our away games this season, Wolves, Norwich, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal and now Liverpool but it's Anfield and only Anfield where you feel you're visiting a special place. A truly iconic stadium and also it's one hell of a temptation not to join in with YNWA !!! The icing on the cake was the reception your fans gave our players at the end. Words can't really do justice for it. I have never seen anything like it before, if all football fans, ours included, conducted themselves the way your fans did Saturday the game would be far better for it. To conclude I would just like to once again thank everybody connected with Liverpool FC for everything on Saturday. Our clubs have different agendas this season, ours is to stay up and yours is for Champions League football. Well I wish you well and i genuinely hope you get it because yours is a club of the finest order and the Champions League needs Liverpool too.
Nice words and a nice story mate,im made up you and yours enjoyed your time up here and i hope the Swans stay up because on saturday even when they were under intense pressure in the first half and the last 10 minutes they stuck to their passing game and did'nt revert to route one. Its just a pity a couple of the posters on your board were more interested in confrontation(mainly a mod).
agreed, swansea are honest and stick to their guns. I am happy to hear the club is giving good service to all its customers. Cos we all sometimes forget that this is what it's about, entertainment and if you had a great time thats as good for us as our lot having a good time. A dirty gorund with 20min queus for the bogs and some sides are happy with a scrappy 1-0 and dn't think of the whole package. This is why i feel liverpool will deliver what we all really want. Simply because we are thinking in all areas finally
Many thanks for such warm words, and for commenting on the traditions (and tradegies) of the club we love. I'm delighted you had such an enjoyable time. I wasn't there as I had to wait in for a bloody btumble drier to arrive! You can demonstrate your thanks by dicking the mancs when you play them after the internationals . Good luck for the rest of the season
At a time when it's all too easy to criticise, and there are some clubs I could easily criticise I just felt that I had to put some words down and congratulate your club. I've been to 60 of the league clubs and this is the only time I've ever felt like this. The Emirates was a good day but it's not Anfield. I genuinely wish you lads all the best and I for one look forward to returning the warm welcome on the last day of the season and yes we'll try and do you a favour against the Mancs.
