Everyone from Lawro, Jamie, Charlie et al have been saying ALL season that we haven't been tested and that the next three games will be the proof.

    I disagree.

Would you have said that the ManU/City game a fortnight ago was a tester? Yes. Was in conclusive proof ManU season will crumble? No
Chelsea have scraped wins against very average sides and look a shadow of last season.
Man City are on a roll but we must take the game to them.

We now have a solid confident side playing flair football and there could be no better time to play these teams........let's enjoy the prospect and appreciate how far we have come as a team in 6 months.

If we pleasantly surprise ourselves during this run it could be the foundation for a great season :D

Agreed, it's not the 6 or so games against the top 3 or 4 that will shape our season.
It's how we perform against ALL the teams in the league and how we bounce back from defeat when it happens.
So far we have shown great fighting and battling qualities to get us where we are, I'm just sitting back and enjoying the ride for a change.

At the minute we are in 3rd and I see us 15 points away from the magic 40, once we get passed forty then we'll see where we can push on to finish.

Football has a habit of kicking you in the nuts when you least expect it.

weve played 11 of the 19 teams so far...how the hell have we not played anyone yet (aimed towards the pundits)? are they saying that 11 teams in the premiership are sub-standard?

They don't know what they're saying half of the time, they just open their mouths and let the words come out.

Agreed. We've played some real tough teams and won.

The fact of the matter is the season is freaking 38 games....There's no way a 10-0 loss can define a season... Remember the seasons we beat Man Utd 5-0? I remember two games in different seasons that happening.. But so what? Didn't they still win the title? Lawro et al can gtfo, I couldn't care less what they say anymore...We've proven that we can get the job done and as fans we're delighted with our performance so far...

It's cause they are all waiting for us to fall, IF/When we lose in the next 3 weeks you know they'll all be pointing and saying the knew it would happen.
As I say it is how we bounce back and get on with it, Norwich and Swansea after chelsea won't be easy matches either.

Don't care what the pundits say, it's what we do each match and so far I'm happ with how the team has played and achieved.

There's no easy matches these days. The financial rewards are such, that every team feels it needs to win to retain their status and keep the bucks coming in.

In my opinion these 3 games don't really matter too much, it's the result away at Swansea after the Chelsea game that is really important.
They're very solid at home and us going there off the back of 3 defeats (worst case scenario) will really show us what our side is made of.

I honestly think that the pundits are assessing us as a top 4 side, whereas the fans are not. Whilst we know we aren't top 4 quality and we aren't going to be there all season, the pundits are saying that we must be put up against Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea (along with Spurs earlier) to see whether we really are a top 4 side, whereas we already know we aren't.

    I suppose it's a compliment in a way.

The term banded about against Everton was "Everton are the best of the rest" eg just below top 4 or 5 and based on our performances is where we should be trying to aim (not saying that is where we will finish).
Everyone will expect us to lose against at The manchesters and Chelski, most toon fans would hope for a draw against all 3 but realistic would expect a loss.
It's how we perform against all the other teams that will really determine where we will finish, not just the top teams.

As I have said before, there are 13 teams below us and the 'top 6'. If you beat them all at home and draw against all of them away, then you get 52 points. That should be the basic foundation for this club.
