The problem for Jones is I took an instant dislike to the bloke and I could have lived with that if he was a good manager. Sadly he doesn't have the skills or the temperament to be a manager at this level, although he likes to think he has, and I find that every time I hear him speak I like him even less. It is a terrible thing to say but I detest the bloke. He hasn't the character or personality that endears himself to me. He's the sort of bloke that I know that if I worked with him it would eventually come to blows.
At least this would be a coherent plan. After watching the last few games I genuinely have no idea what Jones’ team is trying to do. We are basically a disorganised rabble on the pitch
Honestly thought Ankersen would be a significant boost to Saints. Now he’s at risk of being permanently renamed Rasmus ****ersen.
Just curious , IF NJ is sacked and for the record I don’t think he will be ( but hope he is ) . If he has hacked off so many people and possibly broken some rules ref slagging off the club , then he won’t get his entire package will he ?
Downsides of sticking: Relegation JWP goes No new manager bounce No uniting of players Bad feeling towards club some of this is conjecture of course
He'd absolutely cement my support if we won 5 of the next 6. That would put us 3-4 wins from safety with 11 games to go. I'd take that!
I'm beginning to think Jones is our very own Captain Sobel. I wonder if that means Ruben Selles is our Lt. Winters?
I would imagine he now has a short-term set of targets which must be achieved to keep his job. A required number of points from a short set of winnable games. But fan noise may yet accelerate that. I'm actually excited about the Wolves match. We've been promised Jonesball in its purest form (from Jones' own mouth) vs an in-form Wolves. It is a huge dice roll from a man on the brink of both a personal breakdown and inciting the biggest mass Saints fan meltdown of all time!
Sobel was a bastard despised by his team (unit) but he did actually do a fantastic job in training and preparing them... Jones seems to fit 1 of those more than the other
Going purely on the headline here but 'No meeting was held, with any potential firing of a manager not decided that way'. How do they decide? Is Rasmus going to do it Gladiator style and pollice verso at the final whistle on Saturday?
Knew they would bottle it. Every single minute they've given Jones edges us closer to relegation. **** SR
Mark today in your diary lads. Simple entry, "Relegation confirmed" Honestly I'm gunning for Ted talk ****er and Semmens now. Jones is a twat, a **** manager and so far out of his depth they need lifeguards rather than stewards at St Mary’s. But I wouldn't walk out on a multi million pound contract either. He's still got to look after himself and his family. The arrogant ****ers of Semmens and Ted talk though, are completely different. They're going to send the club down rather than admit they are wrong. They're taking the fans on a journey, where we've got no say in where we going, and when we get there and find out the destination is actually a bit ****, they get to walk off and take the car keys. It matters not that the entire journey we've explained that Skegness is **** (we've been there before) we've shown them the leaflets that there's **** all to do in Skegness and we'll lose a lot of money, but they're convinced it's not that different from Mauritius and it's quite close. We've now stopped at the services and they've spent more on holiday essentials then you ever have before, maybe they do care and we're not going to Skeggie? There's a bit of hope! The difficulty is their driver isn't capable of driving anywhere but to Skegness as its all he knows and feels comfortable with. You're telling Ted talk and Semmens that you really don't want to go there but now they've locked the door and told the driver to go faster. They're confident he knows the way otherwise they wouldn't have picked him and they know best! Now we've just looked up to see this.... Absolute ****ing ****ers.
TBH it's not relegation that I'm particularly fearful of. Sure, my Spurs/Man Utd/Liverpool/Chelsea supporting mates will give me an absolute ****load of stick but I'll just call them glory hunting ****s in exchange. I think SR, for all their faults, wouldn't panic and would provide the tools needed for an instant return to the PL. It's the loss of the club's identity that I really fear. The pathway from academy to first team has ground to a massive halt. The football on show is absolutely atrocious. This is why I was keen for the club to stick with Ralph for so long. Ballard and Payne got minutes in the first team under him. We played fantastic football under him when we were on it. Inside a few months, Jones has managed to alienate the entire fanbase with his football and appalling attitude.
