Breaking news on the bbc. The Premier League has accused Manchester City of breaching its financial rules following an investigation. It has referred the club to a commission over alleged breaches between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons. In 2020 City had a two-year ban from European club competitions overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas), after Uefa had ruled that City committed "serious breaches" of Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations between 2012 and 2016. The skunks don't like this
"The Premier League can confirm today that Man City have been fined £5,000 for breaching Financial Rules"
The only thing that will teach clubs like that is transfer embargos, squad size restrictions and points deductions But the PL will bottle it
Fine them £200m,relegate the bastards and prevent them from paying any players more than £10k a week for 2 years. That'll larn 'em!
I suspect Chitty's expensive lawyers and accounts will find a way out of the charge as they did with UEFA
Whatever punishment the PL hand down will be watered down by the CAS as always. Totally pointless exercise
There’s not a chance in Hell that anything will be done to Man City, maybe a little fine, the corruption in the Premier League is rife and a nice little brown envelope bung from Sheikh Mansoor will see them right and they will get away with it yet again. I seem to remember the last time they got away with FFP that Mansoor admitted that he paid his cousin something daft like £300m to sponsor Man City (Etihad Airways I think) and they still got away with it. totally pointless exercise imho but hey ho, here’s hoping we get the League Cup
