And I am thinking that the “far too many times” comment means that he doesn’t want to be in this position again, so I would expect him to move in the summer, even if, by some miracle, we stay up. He wants the Premier League record for scoring direct free kicks so he definitely won’t stay if relegated.
I don’t blame him, he deserves better. I just hope we don’t have to see him take that FK record in another team’s shirt.
I very much doubt that he is against our youth direction, he will remember where he came from and would want others to follow in his footsteps?
There is a middle ground though surely? We obviously have gone all in on youth with our recruitment in the summer and maybe he/other senior players think that we’ve gone too far with it. Bringing in a handful of youth is fine but we must be the youngest team in the league and he obviously thinks that is a problem when in a relegation fight
Well you know my opinion on what has been going on in the B Team, every time we get a good squad together the best players have been sent away on loan and very few have come back, some, had they been given a chance, may have stepped up, we will never know.
I'm with you on that one. But equally, we can't have a team full of kids and no-PL experience as it will cost us. As it is this season, and I think thats what JWP is pissed about. We needed the likes of Romeu, Stephens, Redmond etc around to help guide the young'uns.
Unity Brewing has closed, so my pre match bar has gone. I may give up my season ticket now as that’s been the highlight
Apologies if this has been posted already... But Saints were pretty quick to bring a training video.. Showing Orsic smiling... and a feeling the camp is alot better.. very telling.
I saw that, such a shame as their beer was brilliant. Not many places near to the stadium to get a good beer, only one I can think of now is the Guide Dog. In fairness actually, the prince of wales often has a good beer on but its stupidly busy pre match.
On top of losing the manager and losing every game, Saints also seem to have lost their sense of humour. "Southampton had made similar refusals to other clubs" What's that all about?. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-humber-64635244 The Grimsby fans are gutted. The problem is where does it all end? That week it's just harmless Harry the Haddock but if you allow that, before you know it there'll be Skate everywhere. The Saints are said to be concerned that it could lead to an outbreak of fish puns among a certain section of the home support.
