F**k me he's still not been sacked! SR are running a multi million pound business, not the local cornershop!
I think I’ve figured out the appointment we need. It’s time. Bring back Don Cortese and his contract shredder
Yep that's the one!!! Didn't want to post it upset the mods and get banned. It's definitely preferable for Mrs Lincoln for me moaning and stropping here than at home
Anybody here know who does the PA system at St. Mary’s? I’ll kick off a GoFundMe for them to play this after the final whistle against Wolves
Has the claim of a training ground brawl today been verified as I didn't think they trained on a Sunday.
It is possible I guess that they are sounding out potential new managers, but won't ditch Jones until someone is ready to immediately take over
Some random thoughts on this: - Putting all the other stuff to one side, if Jones and Selles don't see eye to eye at all, to the extent there was a physical confrontation between them, then it's reasonably likely something has to give and one or other has to move on - Jones is correct that the team have been conceding sloppy goals for too long and since before he came in. However, his job is to stop that happening and he hasn't done it - If the stories about Jones being told not to "treat players like children" are true and he's compromised since that happened, then (without knowing details) it's possible his preferred approach would be better. What one person might call strict discipline another would call treating people like children. Some people mocked Dyche this week for the no hats and snoods in training thing. In itself it doesn't really matter but it may be sign of a different approach to coaching that improves results. The reality is that whatever's been going on behind the scenes at Saints for the last year hasn't worked. - Again, even if the above is true, my sympathy for Jones is very limited because he's chosen not to stick with his preferred approach, and this smacks of a lack of self-confidence. To be fair he seems to have accepted this - For the people who thought fans picking up on Jones saying "they" was nitpicky, yesterday's interviews are exactly where those of us who were concerned about him saying "they" thought this might be going - Always hard to say from the outside but I think his position is probably untenable now. Even if he is actually capable of managing at this level I very much doubt he can do it at Saints right now
