Just noticed Man United are playing Leeds twice in a row. Leeds will be delighted by that Casemiro straight red Was a game postponed? Seems weird they play twice in a week
Assuming it was from the weekend after the Queen passed away and football was postponed. We still need to play Brentford at home as well from that weekend.
It was one of the ones the weekend before the funeral , called off because of the policing it would take but police were already involved in funeral preparations Not ideal playing sane sides twice in a row but Man Utd are already in danger of running out of midweeks for all their games so needs just whenever they get a free one currently
The bit at the end of this piece would be interesting if introduced throughout football. EDDIE HOWE was right when he suggested a Bruno Guimaraes challenge on Samuel Edozie during Newcastle’s midweek Carabao Cup win over Nottingham Forest did not look so bad at first glance. Which is why the St James’ Park crowd was in uproar (as were Toon players, above) when VAR told Paul Tierney to go to the pitchside monitor and have another look at the foul. They were equally uproarious when Tierney, predictably and correctly, dismissed Guimaraes. But if the replay Tierney had seen had been watched by the 50-odd thousand people inside St James’ Park, there could only have been grumbles from the most ridiculously one-eyed punter. Which is why the pilot scheme currently taking place at the Club World Cup in Morocco, which involves the referee explaining a VAR decision as it is shown on a big screen at the stadium, cannot be adopted quickly enough.
Didn’t realise Newcastle were playing Forest, we really are completely irrelevant in the media’s eyes
Hard to know who to back out of forest and Leeds. I thought forest were better candidates for the drop, now they’ve pulled away a bit. Leeds could be dragged in.
I remember being at Palace away when we won 1-0 and he was absolutely immense. His chant was going pretty much the whole match.
I know Forest have signed everybody, but I hadn't realised they'd got FM favourite, Danilo. Interested to see Navas in goal, and McKennie for Leeds.
