Get Bielsa in. That mad bastard is exactly what we need now. An obsessive who makes them run till they puke and can tell everyone on the pitch exactly what to do. And he'll do well in the championship next season.
I'd go for this or throwing money at Poch for the rest of the season. Probably wouldn't work but at least the football would be entertaining on the way down.
Do people seriously think Poch would return? Not a hope in hell. Also I don’t think Bielsa would work here, as much as it would be entertaining. I’m not sure fitness is the problem with our players, more coaching and organisation.
Would imagine if they’re going to sack him it will be today. If not he’ll be in charge for Wolves this weekend. Not many people would survive after throwing virtually everybody under the bus as the egotistical maniac has. If rumours are true one of the digs yesterday would have been at Selles, who allegedly told him in no uncertain terms that you do not treat premier and international players the way he did on Friday by playing them with the kids, especially when it’s not injury return related.Fingers crossed for today.
Take your pick boys and girls. I would honesty take every single one of them over Jones, and I’ve never heard of a few of them. On SW one poster has said that there were discussions between the owners last night and apparently will continue into today??
We are properly shafted because there isn’t a single person capable of saving us who would come here now. I also can’t seem to find many successful Championship managers who are available for next season either. Pay up to Club Brugge for Scott Parker? This is the level of **** we are in.
Do I think Poch would come here? Not at all. Would it be worth enquiring though. Absolutely! You never know, he might be feeling sentimental and be willing to try and help us out until the end of the season. He probably wouldn’t want a PL relegation on his CV but i don’t think it would be held against him given the state we’re in. Still, despite our history with him, it’s extremely, extremely unlikely. Nice to dream though as reality is pretty depressing.
I wonder if we considered Dyche? I would take literally anyone capable of motivating the players. We’re going down, at least do it with a team that’s fired up.
I can see Nuno the ex Wolves, briefly Spurs manager taking over. Always liked him. His team played decent football, and has Premier League experience.
To think, there was me a while back thinking that Marco Silva was a fraud as a manager. Silly, silly Laces.
Well guys and girls. I am off to sleep, it's a windy, rainy night in New Plymouth NZ, but I expect to wake up to hear the news that Jones has been sacked God willing lol
Wasn’t Nuno Santo linked when we sacked Ralph? And I’m sure that Semmens effectively said we were big fans of Bruno Lage before he went to Wolves? When he was talking about us constantly tracking managers even if we weren’t looking to make a change at that point. We are now in a position where we need someone to come in and get settled between now and the end of the season to build towards getting us promoted next season. I can’t see us attracting a manager capable of keeping us up, so planning now for next season seems a sensible move to me.
I think his decision on Friday to play the first team players in with the kids, was and should be the beginning of the end. It did not go down well with some staff members, and it is very likely to have had the same effect on the first team squad, especially the more senior pros like JWP. This then was reflected in the abject performance yesterday, NJ’s bizarre interviews and even JWP’s interview.
