There you go - hang on to that. Like I keep saying, football is only football. Congratulations on your good news.
You also think we should get beat. That was the bit I highlighted. 'Could' get beat .. maybe, nobody would question that bit but saying we should get beat. I'm embarrassed for you.
Very unfortunate to concede that first one.......inside of Matips thigh and inside of the far post and in. They had got in behind but.....
Don't think I did. You didn't highlight what I said, as far as I can remember. But I think we will get beat. Probably. Draw at best, for the reasons stated - we have no fight at all atm, and Everton have found theirs, and it won't be a game about skill no matter how hard we pretend to be the team of 3 seasons ago.
It’s almost unbelievable that the team could fall from such a high last season to such low this. It’s like a collapse of the team and everything that was a strength is no longer there. Injuries can explain so much. The cause is the severe lack of depth in our squad. I suspect everyone knew that once the top 11 are injured the replacements are nowhere near good enough. City hardly lose potency when some of their key players are absent. I don’t think we are out of the running for top 4 yet but we will need to start winning 3 points pretty soon.
DELUDED, would you like to buy the coordinates of the end of a rainbow where you'll find a pot of gold?
Mito said we could and should get beat. I quoted his post with the should highlighted and replied with "seriously" and you responded with "yes, seriously". That looked to me like you were agreeing we should get beat. Apologies if I've read it wrong or interpreted it wrong. Again I may be misinterpreting but I read the - should get beat - as ... we can expect to get beat. Which is a defeatist attitude that I can't go along with. We all know that form goes out the window on derby day. We've been very poor so far but Everton have been abysmal. One win and suddenly we fear them. Really? Whatever the result it won't be based on form. It never is.
The Everton game should give an indication for rest of the season. If the players can’t get up for the game at Anfield under the lights against your rivals when the whole country has been laughing at you, then season is over.
I was in a similar situation. I've been rather thankful to late push-back times in my games this season
Okay, a bit lost in translation there, but I do think we're LIKELY to lose on form. I.e we're garbage and couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding atm.
Until you start getting matchday threads past 10 pages (and I mean before the kick off) like you lot used to, I can't see the situation on the pitch changing.
Suspect a few of us are just avoiding the from and gloom merchants that on here. We've been in this position not too long ago (Pickford murder attempt on VVD season) and we somehow managed to finish third with no defence. Still lots of time yet to turn it around. Do I think it'll be easy? No. Will I give up hoping? Absolutely not.
I love the doom-mongers (I think I am one ) That's what make the bad times interesting ffs Realistically you need 3 other teams to either fck up or not compete with you for that 4th spot. That's a lot to ask tbh.
Was the same in 'that season' too Doom and gloomers - true but not all the time on every thread, gets a bit tedious
Not saying that getting top 4 will be easy but it should be doable. We need to start a run like the one in our title winning season. One stat encapsulates the poverty of our half season. The GD is +6 . Were it not for Bournemouth’s incredible generosity it would have been in negative territory. Fatal combination of conceding too many whilst the attack has seriously dried up.
Actually, in terms of sentence construction and if I understood his meaning, the word he ought to (should) have used was 'would', if he was intending to say it was likely we were to lose. And on current form, you can't blame him, can you, really?
