Just seen the highlights. Feel for Max, he’d made some great saves, then makes an error for their goal. He will learn from that. Great skill from Scott, and cross from Wells for our second goal

I'll agree with that,Preston have bounced us around and been a right bogey team, I'm excited we have at last done the double over them and hope it continues.
I also wish Preston a good end to the season, there are a lot of pretentious sides in the Championship and I don't regard Preston as one of them.

Preston are a very physical side, and aren’t averse to doing more than their fare share of “****housery” either, we’ve not fared well against them, or teams of their ilk recently, so it seems all the more pleasing to do the double over them this season, maybe, just maybe, we are eventually learning how to beat these type of teams.

    Taking a quick look at the next fixtures [ play next 7 and will be ...... played H = 19 .. played A = 17 ... Norwich H/Sunderland A / Cardiff A stick out. Get 4 points from these then Wigan H / Hull H / Hudders A / BPool H should yield another 8-10 pts!
To round off to 10 games Luton A / Swansea A / Reading H could realise another 4! so played 40 games could be us on 53 points and safety! in our pocket! Having found my missing pre season prediction file the points for 10 games was 16 pts ... but only shows 2 losses! [ Sunderland and Swansea ]
TOP 6 DONT BE SILLY .... but actually sneaking in at 6th is not impossible ... but 4 of last 6 games against current top 5

Hope I don’t curse it but Vyner has been outstanding for us these past few months imo.. seems to have really worked on his game.. I have to applaud Nige for sticking by him when many felt he wasn’t good enough to get in the side never mind in the starting line up.

He has indeed, it helps having a fixed RB, not a marauding RWB. I said on here many times he had the short straw playing as the right of the 3 CB’s trying to cover.

I was always one of the doubters on Zak and I'm glad to say I have to eat my words on him. His overall play has improved extremely well and his positioning across the back has come on in leaps and bounds. Good on you Zak and may you thrive. :emoticon-0148-yes:

    No.
It's because he doesn't understand how to play in a 3. Time and again he drifted to his left leaving a huge gap right-side as Tinnion pointed out more than once on Robins TV.
A back 4 helps as does the solid 4 in front. Pearson couldn't play 4-4-2 earlier due to injuries.
Vyner will always have a rick in him, check out Preston's first attack. He totally lost his man and only our keeper saved him yesterday.

Problem with that statement RP is that they all have a rick in them, but Vyner for some is worth giving both barrels too.. Akinson make a couple during the game which would have definitely been picked up had it been Vyner..
It was ironic that 10 minutes after I was praising Max for being outstanding, he goes and spills one..
Easy pickings for some, but imo Vyner is no worse than anyone else and has improved no end..

Max played well and made several really good saves, the one he fluffed, was more difficult than it first looked, it swung a lot and bounced right in front of him, he would have been upset he didn’t hold it, but it wasn’t the gimme everyone is suggesting. His overall performances have been really good of late, I like how he commands his area, his distribution needs improving, but overall I like him.

you only have to watch Match of the day or EFL LGE [ HIGHLIGHTS ] to see just how many goals come from the defence / player making a slip up ... as you say easy pickings for some to have an axe to grind!

    Spot on 1For.
Trouble is Vyner has inherent problems.
He doesn't have the brightest footballing nous, he's slow and can't turn.
I will add he's better in opponents boxes and he's one of ours.
However, Imo he's been playing because Kalas has been injured and he's the only right footed central defender we have.

In fairness he’s also been one of our best players this season.

Sorry Ashton, Vyner is behind :

    Conway
    Wells
    Max
    Bell
    Naismith
    Pring
    Atkinson
    Oh I almost forgot Scott.

That's 8 and why he's NOT 'one of our best players this season'.

If our players didn't have a 'rick' in them, they would/will very soon not be playing for us.

    I wouldn’t label him ‘best’.
    ‘Most improved’ possibly.
