Mattie Pollock rated 3rd best of the 11 Aberdeen players, according to BBC votes. I think the kid has a future, just needs to mature.
Some rather strange voting there though - Aberdeen's McRorie came last with 2.6 yet he only played for 6 minutes before being rather harshly sent off. I've seen subs who played for longer not rated due to having played for insufficient time.
I think Mattie may need to learn the meaning of the phrase 'don't burn your bridges' - he won't endear himself to Watford fans saying things like this. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport...s/mattie-pollock-bold-aberdeen-never-29138960
How long has he been there??!! Ask him again after a few defeats and they are baying at him for making mistakes
Yeah, I don’t blame him that much. He’s a young kid, being interviewed for probably the first time, and he’s saying the things he thinks he is supposed to be saying. I think we do recognise our defensive players. I think my moniker, BB’s, are examples of how they live long in the memory. And at the games, we clap and cheer quality defending. I don’t place a lot of importance to his comments. I thought he was good, just inexperienced. I hope he picks up that experience in Scotland and then returns to us a better player.
Probably just trying to say the right things as you say . I mean his only appearance at the Vic was the MK Dons in league cup with about 7k there (more than most Scottish teams though) so there probably was a better atmosphere. Maybe Pollock is hoping the Aberdeen fans don’t write him off after 2/3 appearances like some of ours fans have .
He has only played in two games so far, both of which had 14K attendances. The odd thing about Aberdeen fans appears to be that they are angry - they do create a bit of noise, but mostly when they're angry at the ref, not so much when attempting to spur the team on. If he thinks they are loud, he won't know what hit him for their next game - away to Celtic. Especially when the inevitable happens and Celtic score.
And a different Ben I’d always liked. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/tottenham-foster-forster-lloris-injury-29167345 “Until now…” as they used to say on ‘Tomorrow’s World’.
Glad someone does. Another who seems to get a rough deal some of our fans just because if the Go Pro stuff and the fact he got relegated with us. I mean we should hate most of the 1999 and 2006 promotion winning team then.
I didn’t know that. Bloody hell, I’m glad I don’t meet these idiots, every Hornet I meet is reasonable. ‘Cept my Dad, of course. Players are all bloody soft apparently these days, something to do with the ‘beachball’ they play with and none being a patch on Frank Mitchell.
Guess things like Twitter and some forums do bring out the worse in people. I am sure most weren't that bothered either way. Mind you the club seemed to make a bit of a fuss about it at the end of last season. Was one of those situations where when were winning and doing well no-one complained but as soon as the results dipped it became an issue. Foster has actually become quite a hit on Youtube betting loads of interviews with ex and current players and being quite opinionated.
