Be nice if it's one of those games where we score 3 early goals and coast home

I can probably count on one hand the number of "easy games" I've watched Sunderland play in the last 40 years :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Thanks again RTB for and outstanding match day thread. Looking forward to this one and to catching up with friends. A very difficult game for us against a strong good team. Having said that we are a good team . I fancy a draw but will be hoping for a win. Keep the faith lads and lasses.

It just doesn’t happen does it? That’s the price we pay for being Sunderland supporters!

Correct. I remember the 1st 3-0 at the landfill. 3 goals up, absolute dominance and with 1 min to go I was rocking back and forth muttering "****s sake, if they get one.....we're in trouble"

If we take the chances we'll inevitably create we'll win

You were not alone! Come to think of it,over the years the last couple of minutes and injury time are my most worrying times.Think it goes back to the Man U match in 64.....I'm still suffering the trauma!

Shaping up nicely. It’s not exactly a glamorous one but it’s exactly the type of test that the likes of Michut, Alese and Gelhardt got on board for.

They seem to be making a big deal about this game, almost trying to create a faux rivalry with some of the fan's anger towards Pritch

One of my favourite Sunderland memories is the groans around the stadium when the added time was announced while we were 3-0 up against Everton under Big Sam.

To use a well worn phrase ‘it’s their cup final’ or that’s just the way it seems, guess they don’t get many big crowds.

That's pretty remarkable to be fair. It looks as though their largest attendance this season is about 15,500 v Boro but this game it's going to be 20,000. Partly to do with us selling the away end out of course, but they're in a good place and have made signings theres happy with too.

    Its a tough game.

They've got a very good home record and will be an entirely different proposition to the game here, where I thought they were underwhelming. They're going to pack to box and get plenty of high deliveries in and we have to deal with that. Hopefully that leaves of with plenty of space to counter as we know we're suited to that especially away from home. Lets see what Gelhardt is all about, I know hes a grafter which suits us but he won't have the same aerial presence as Rossco who can mix it against the big centre halves and let them know they're in a scrap.

I think it'd be a very good point today if we can get one given their home record and we've travelled pretty well this season.

Yep, can't diasagree mate. Clean sheet and/or a draw will suffice for me.

When we last didn't have a target man, we walked the ball intto the box. Some outstanding one touch stuff...

    We are blessed with skill..

    Clean sheet please lads !
