Cardiff are probably about as good/bad as Huddersfield in terms of on the field talent. New manager for them got them organised against Luton but they still looked way short. Get the first goal again and I think City win. They score first and I fear its a repeat of the Huddersfield game.

    2-0 Win. Fingers crossed

Very important game after winning the last one. All this time without a home win now is the time to prove we have turned a corner. Win this and we could start to make the MKM a much harder place to come. We have been inconsistent for most of the season much of it because of what's gone on before LR's Time here. Shame we still have the injuries up front because we probably lack a bit of pace. However did well last week because of some good defending and a very poor QPR attack. I think Cardiff will be better however let's hope our home winning run continues. 1.0 win would do for me.

We need a similar start to the game as QPR, get the first goal and I think we will build on it. Though they are likely to sit back and try to catch us on the break, so we have to be mindful of that. As said, important to get another win to back up last week.

Gulp. A lot of hubris on here....

We do seem to be improving and I do think we've turned a corner.

I'd take a scrappy 1-0 from a deflected home goal if it gave us 3 points.

However, come on City I really wanna so those paws so give 'em a mauling....

So he wanted to slim it down so that everyone can play and he’s happy there’s so much competition for places?

Sensible thinking, if the squad is too big then some will see little chance of a game, he basically wants 2 players for each position with a couple spare in case of injury.

I know this is my new hobby horse and I'm going on about it again, but right now we're nowhere near that. We have 18 senior players available for tomorrow and that includes 3 defenders on the bench and Longman as the only attacker. We'll probably put Jarvis on there instead of one of the senior defenders.

He spoke about motivation too. About certain players not being motivated in training. He said today everyone was on it and trying to get into the team.

If some of those moved on were not trying, then moving them on makes a lot of sense even if we end up short handed while players come back.

At our level with the finances available we cannot afford to have a bloated squad. In the EPL yes, as the revenue is there. But in our position I think we got is about right now. In addition as I said, I can see the logic in what Liam is doing, club that utilise fewer players often do better than teams with to many options, unless you are a Man City/Man U etc..

Ironically Man City actually have an incredibly small squad considering their level of resources.

    Still work in progress.

We’ll give most teams a proper game now.

    Turn up and enjoy it…

Logical, and makes perfect sense to me.
So long as you have that couple of extra, and a few players who can play well in more than one position (Christie being a good example).
Can't see why we would do any different in the PL (if we get there). The logic behind it would be exactly the same.

Yes I agree, I just think it's strange that it seems to be go unnoticed by most that we still have so many players unavailable and that we have done for so long.

Knowing, as I do, City's benevolent policy of giving a leg up to teams struggling at the wrong end of the table, I think I know where this one is heading!!!! Away win.
