I thought at the time the girlfriend wanted to withdraw the allegation but because they had enough evidence the police were going ahead with it anyway.

Part of the police statement says the further information has been received which has led to the dropping of all charges. Shame really because they will never reveal what that information is and his career is over. Once accused always guilty to most people and of course if you don't serve time you have paid the accuser off if your rich. People must have a really bad opinion of women to think so many are happier with money than justice.
I think sometimes women take the money as it's possibly the only redress they'll get considering our legal system and how badly they are let down by it when it comes to these sort of cases.
I think what we are finding is that the UK justice system cannot get any cases through against rich and powerful men. Ryan Giggs has how many character witnesses? There was physical injury evidence in this case and not guilty verdict. Benjamin mendy. how many of the charges came out not guilty? Greenwood - all charges dropped. How many more are like partey who were no named but everyone knew what was going on? yet fans etc will have none of it. It seems to me a footballer pretty much won't get found guilty of anything in the UK.
Tbf, you can also add Gerrard to that, actually being filmed assaulting a DJ (prick as he was) but somehow getting away with it. The bottom line is that top-level Prem footballers are extremely expensive assets, and just like top-level oligarchs and donors they will receive top-level lawyers (and sympathetic judges) that money can buy. And just add Duckenfield to that as well, who had admitted his responsibility in one court, but had a friendly judge to shield him from any mention of that confession during his own retrial for manslaughter. Welcome to the United Kingdom of Kleptopia, where money talks and justice walks.
Shame they didn't have it when Lampard was with them. Would have stopped them losing balls kicked into the parking lot.
yeah been a really good buy for them . Silva has put together a really useful squad which he has playing good effective football .
energetic. all the clubs who's a bit about them and 1 game a week are making us and chelsea look bad. the surprise club that's not doing itnat all is palace. they should be prospering under Vieira with some of the attacked they have but no. Brighton, Fulham and Brentford are high energy sides. Newcastle are mean defensively so for Eddie howe this is a ****ing shock tbh. the sides who can't mix it with these sides are being shown up I guess.
tbf Chelsea had a horrendous injury list not long ago in fact on paper it was a strong PL team and now they haven't got a team just loads of random players but no CF's . Brighton are far better than an "energy" team and Brentford have what we used to have which is a system that the players have bought into and suits their attributes so they are far far better than the sum of their parts .
Win tomorrow and we could go 6th. 4 behind spurs with a game in hand (they then play city) and 8 behind Manchester United and Newcastle united in 3rd and 4th. I know it’s reliant on us going in a decent run, but if we keep winning games those gaps aren’t going to get bigger and likely to come down as others drop points. Just about getting players back, get firing again and get within touching distance and who knows what will happen.
Not sure if you know ow the tables work by to catch up on 4th you have to catch up on 5th first.. thought you’d guys be fully aware of that given that’s been about your position the last 10 years?
yes you are right, all 3 I named pushed up on us and pressed then were able to get into good shape or hit us hard and fast. all 3 blew us off the park basically. you are right about Chelsea too. 40 odd players and not one striker. each and every buy has been lauded as the greatest ever player and then 2 months later need to get rid. koulibaly, sterling, pulisic are all to be sold but their own youths like broja(who was chased for a new contract then got injured) and gallagher (who was denied a move last summer) are on the scrap heap the cb they bought to replace koulibaly is not even in the cl squad cos they couldn't change enough names (limited to 3 allowed)
