We've dropped down to fifth in the table after that lot up the M1 scored an 89th minute winner against Cardiff and moved above us.
And no doubt the media and some of our own fans will take great delight in pointing out how well Rob Edwards is doing .
Leas Porteous is keen to work with Bilic but who knows how long that will be the case for ! https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/23291411.porteous-keen-learn-watford-head-coach-bilic/
Bloody hell - why was this one let slide? We wanted Sissoko back, Sissoko wanted to come back, and was willing to take a pay cut - but the stumbling block was a transfer fee less than we received for him. https://archive.is/i08R9
Well that will get those that say the Pozzo's don't spend money in a lather - and give them further ammunition When you think we spent £5m on Bayo, this appears to be a rather large ball that has been dropped
Lots of differing views from Watford fans today. Some think that with those returning from injury we have a decent team, while others think it is still poor. The graphic below shows quite well what the options might be. please log in to view this image
At first glance I wondered why we had twelve starters there. Presumably either Davis or Araujo should be in the shaded area along with Assombalonga and Manaj? I do wonder about the goalkeeper situation though. Haven't seen anything of Hamer so can't really comment - but I'm actually surprised that Okoye is still here. Limited opportunities, didn't exactly impress when he has played, and presumably hasn't impressed Slav.
That is a shame. If motivated would have been very useful in this league. But then I thought he would be last season.
The rebuild might take longer than most want. At least we have some young promising talent in there. Not really sure going straight back up (I don't think it's likely either) will help us, despite the obvious financial benefits.
I'm glad we didn't take a step backwards and resign Sisocco. Last season he had good figures for regaining the ball but that was because he continuously lost it in the first place! He was once a great player but he would not have been even a short term solution.
I regretfully say that I called that during the game. His foot was trodden on, but the way he went down, held the top of his foot when talking to the physios, he tried to valiantly to carry on, but the pain wasn’t easing. It all looked like one thing. This is a major blow. He’s been solid. Our goals conceded stat looks as it does because he and CC have put in thoroughly professional stints, understanding each other. I’m gutted.
R.I.P., Oli. You were a wonderful sports journalist for the Watford Observer. I did speak with him by telephone in the early 1990s after I had recommended a young player (who later became a major star) to Watford without any acknowledgement so he contacted the club. Glenn Roeder then sent a letter to me, but he had clearly not looked at the video recording which I had sent to Watford and the club took no further action. Roeder wrote that the club was still looking for a striker, but the player whom I had recommended was a midfielder. Oli published a short comment in the Watford Observer about my recommendation one year later when a Premier League club signed the player. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/watfordfc/watfordfcnews/
