Yeah his goal scoring fell off a cliff but he at least knows the system so he can press from the front. He can also dribble and carry the ball into the box. Luis Diaz is the one I'm really missing - his speed and explosiveness is badly needed.
Looking forward to when we can play diaz and nunez in the same side. Think those two could just cause absolute chaos. Proper pace and trickery.
As I said, he was energetic but no use when it's not a team effort. He was doing a one man press like Robbo loves to do
I honestly didn't know how this game would go having just lost to them but was hoping for the win. We played a lot better this time and were very unlucky with both their goals for different reasons. Gomez stands his ground on the second and that doesn't go in. Fabinho looks done and it's painful to watch. I can't recall seeing a player with such a quick drop off in form and it doesn't appear to be temporary. Mo needs his shooting boots back, not to mention his bff Virgil. This slump can't be fixed with more training or more testing. The only way to get through is more games thick and fast so thank goodness we have some of that coming up. You play your way into form.
Fabinho’s regression really is staggering and out of the blue, wonder if there’s some **** going on in his private life
Many a true word said in jest. Funnily enough I remember saying the same when Michael Owen welcomed his first baby. His form dropped off significantly. I can't remember if he got it back.
in fairness Michael owen ripped his hamstring clean off the bone mate. fabinho has gone to the dogs a long time before the nipper was born. it's just not instant he was slowing last year, you lot just forget it cos we were on a roll. same as salah was slowing. same as mane was. we have just had it all come at once plus total inconsistency if selection due to many injuries. imo fabinho was overplayed and crocked 2 seasons ago at cb and hasn't looked the same since. he's just got slower and less sharp with each passing month.
Even you're a northerner to Brighton Boy. Don't worry though, the rest of us are under no such illusion.
I don't think anyone forgot it, we could all see it happening. Same with the frustrating Salah and Mané, as you said. We just had enough of everything in every department (well almost enough, one more goal each from the aforementioned would have changed the outcome of the season) to keep us chugging along because there was a lot of chugging.
We are missing a talisman. Gerrard was an outstanding talisman. I don't know how to describe what I mean but I think it also doesn't need breaking down. Talisman aside, there are also some players who bring something to the team other than their skills, or lack of. Shaqiri was one. Most of the teams he played for were extremely successful (not Stoke). Then there are the Origi and Minamino types who step up with some iconic moments. Who is playing like that atm who will come on and do.something exceptional?.
Well you have a point there it was inevitable at anfield salah was going to score. end of. it was like shearer for Blackburn. you had to score 2 to win. then we had mane and salah bother scoring the crowd are all in behind nunez. they are waiting for him to step up and are chanting his name constantly. same for vvd at the back. he was playing the back door was shut. that's gone too. konate is not quite there yet but we will see won't we. the issue again is midfield. there's not one of them standing up and leading like a pre zimmer frame Henderson. again bajcetic is a kid. he's been done twice stretching in by **** play round him and got yellows so has to be careful. the new spine konate bajcetic nunez it's only in development. the old spine has crumbled.
