Yes, he's a waste of space and money. I wonder whether our contract with Leeds allows a return of shoddy goods, not of "merchantable quality". I suspect that contract insists that he be selected in the starting eleven whenever fit, otherwise I can't understand for the life of me why he gets game time. He seems to argue a lot with our own players as well: a bad apple.
Yep, our highest paid player is a striker who has scored 3 in 16 for us, scored 9 in 101 games for Leeds, and has scored 21 goals in 162 professional appearances. Only at QPR.
Lowe looks a decent championship striker. We need to back him over the next few games cos he’s all we’ve got or are gonna get
If Tim was one of our players he would have been murdered by fans yesterday and on here. it was quite frankly a diabolical 1st half display to go with other recent performances, Dozzell still gets pasted but at least made an effort in the 2nd half. To get back to basicsat Huddersfield, drop Roberts and Tim from the squad, JCS in for Dickie, Balogen(if fit) possibly for Dunne as he looks knackered, Stef for Tim, Willock for Roberts, Armstrong for Adomah. See if the core from earlier on in the season can get a bit of motivation and unity and thrive on a striker who cares about wearing a Hoops top
I think we will scrape through.Hoping that Les will step in is highly optimistic and even if he does he hasn't got a scooby how to pick a player.
Neither Willock or Roberts are strikers Dave, they are attacking midfield players. I've never seen Roberts play as a striker for us even yesterday when Dykes was out. Beale was doing what he always did, lie when he claimed he was. Roberts has some good technical skills in and around their penalty area and even pressed once yesterday, scored a brace a few games ago, but that's about it. That £40K must be grossly inflated too. It may include whatever Robert's was paid at Leeds, but no way would Hoos pay anywhere near enough of it to get to £40K for the 3 of them
Leeds would be paying at least half of Roberts wages one would imagine as would Villa for Tim and Utd for Laird. It's very rare that a Championship club takes a Premier league player on loan and ends up paying 100% of his salary.
Made quite a bold decision today, not to bother with any more games this season. That's it I'm done with spending money to watch complete ****. The window is about to close, no sign of improving an average team, no ambition, no desire, no passion. It's demoralising being a QPR fan.
Totally agree. Roberts hasn't done much since his arrival but who the **** has? Even Lowe just ran around like a headless chicken yesterday doing **** all. I'm more concerned with the players that belong to us rather than those that don't.
Good point...maybe I was getting carried away calling them 'strikers'. Almost makes the point stronger though, we clearly need an out and out striker to play alongside Dykes.
How do we interpret NC's after match talk reported on the BBC Sport website : "If you look at the recent history of this football club, it's quite clear to me that a few things need to change. What's the saying? 'Either the people change or you change the people'. "It's nothing to do with tactics or ability but when it's hard, we lack the certain basics of football. When the going gets tough you need people to stand up and do the ugly side of the game better than we do. "It's a challenge. I enjoy a challenge, but it's quite clear to me where this team need improving. We need to change and we need to change quickly."
So one or both of Warburton or Beale is the new Hughes/Redknapp for recruiting ****ers. Unless we can blame St Les and his magical time travelling scouting elves.
