    Evening Toon army.

Nice to see you up the top of the league. You've done fantastically well so far this season as far as i'm concerned.

I've just checked out your next 3 fixtures. Very tasty indeed! Realistically how many points do you think you'll take from the next 9? Similarly, how many would you be happy with?
Chelsea is the easiest of the 3 for me. They aren't as good as the manchester clubs, and you are at home for that one.
If i were you i'd be happy if you won that one and wrote off the other 2.
We (Spurs) already took a pasting from the 2 manchester clubs this season, not easy at all.

    Good luck with all 3!

Maximum I think we could take is 4. I dont see us getting anything at Man City but Man U are playing poorly enough that we could nick a draw and I think we could even beat Chelsea if we are on top form as they arent suited to how AVB wants them to play.

    Realistically, 1-2 points.

Cheers, and good luck yourselves, you look a better side than the others chasing third right now <cheers>

Sadly I can't see us getting much out of the 3 games, although maybe a point against Chelsea.

The Utd game I can see us getting a 1-0 or 2-0 defeat but it's the City game that worries me. Our defence has been excellent this season but City have such a wealth of attacking talent I can see us getting a pasting.

That's what I like to see, confidence, or at least optimism.

Something that appears to have gone unnoticed is the timing of these fixtures.
It might actually fall at the perfect time for you.

The international break will give some of your players a bit of time off, but it certainly won't do the same for the Manchester sides.
Almost all of their players will be involved in games for their countries.

When they return they've got the Champions League ties to think about, with City travelling to Napoli on the Tuesday following your game and Utd playing Benfica on the same night.
Newcastle don't have this midweek game to consider.
Chelsea have a Carling Cup quarter final before they play you and a Champions League tie against Valencia on the Tuesday after your game, which is an extremely important fixture for them.

I'm expecting nothing from the Man City, will be happy to avoid a heavy defeat.

Man U aren't really firing on all cylinders at the moment and like PNP says will possibly be distracted by other fixtures. I think a draw there is an outside possibility but I actually think we will lose again, but narrowly.

Chelsea are also not the efficient machine of the past and appear to be quite dodgy at the back (by their recent standards). I think we have a realistic chance of getting some sort of result there. I'm going for a draw but even a cheeky win might be on the cards.

So 1 point is my guess.

I really fancy us against Chelsea. They were poor against Blackburn, Arsenal and Genk. We have a great defence and belief in the squad that we can beat anybody (Not realistic).

Man Utd could be interesting. They aren't scoring goals and not defending great either so maybe we could sneak a draw but against City I think we will get hammered.

    I predict 4 points.

    8! Haha. Like it.

I think you can beat Chelsea. City look almost invincible to me, even when they're off form they score 3. If kompany plays they don't concede many either.
Man u aren't on top form but there is still the old Trafford ref factor to contend with.

If you can pick up 2-3 or more I still see you being in the top 4 having played last seasons top 5. Brill.

Here's to spurs and toon in the cl next season! Cheers

I wouldn't write you off getting something from any of them tbh. I think you can cause a shock or two on current form. I can definitely see you troubling chelsea

If we came away with 2 I wouldn't be disappointed, but I'm going to be optimistic and say we should be gunning for 4-6 because I don't fear anyone in this league apart from Man City. Good luck to Spurs, they're a good team to watch and are looking far more threatening in the race for the top spots than Liverpool and even Chelsea at the moment.

  17. I'd be disappointed if we didn't take a point of Chelsea atm tbh. Spurs look like a much better team than Chelsea and would be 3rd right now if they didn't have to play the mancs twice in the first two games.

We got a point and, in my opinion, played better than Spurs on the night. We even could have won.

If we can get a point vs that Spurs side that have won 7/8 games since the first two, then i think we can get 1 or maybe 3 pts from Chelsea.

I don't expect anything from the manc teams, but if anyone is going to take points from them at their home grounds, why not the side with the best defense in the league?

I think we'll lose vs Citeh, probably Manure will nick it but it will be a very close game i reckon. Manure look poor.

I keep thinking we will get 6 points. I do believe we can beat Utd and Chelsea. Citeh have too much for us though and I hope we don't get humiliated (it could affect my prediction lol)

On a slight side note, with your impressive quarter of a season so far do you see it prompting Ashley to inject some cash? Or is that too wishful?

And cheers for the kind words on spurs. We're doing ok at the mo. Like most you guys it seems I think a lot of us are expecting a hiccup at some point. Probably against someone pants knowing us
