Do you not think staying down for 1 more season and get a deeper strength throughout the squad. I'm not saying we should stay here, just interested in other fans view.
On what I have seen yes. And will get better with game time and starting to understand team mates movements.
Every season for as long as I can remember Sunderland have been in a promotion or a relegation battle. I'm just glad it's looking more like the former this year.
Never. Football is for enjoyment and winning promotion would be sensational after all the ****e we’ve put up with. Aye staying up would be hard but we would have earned that place, even if we came straight back down financially it would be game changing for this ownership and put us on a great position for the future. I don’t think the ownership would spend recklessly and they have showed they’re astute in the market at this level so no doubts they would just increase the qualities we look for and understand a reasonable but sensible investment will be needed
Bob you dont get to pick and choose when you got chance of promotion if we got a chance this season try best to take it
Without a massive influx of cash that is spent on the squad, it doesn't matter how long we stay in the championship, if we got promoted we would struggle tbf.
I completely understand what you're saying. But as we learnt in league one, its all well and good saying we would rather go up next year. there might not be the chance. In an ideal world if we were guaranteed promotion in the next 3 years I'd probably wait all 3 years. But we aint. I think the best chance of this club being a premier league club in 2027 - is for us to get promoted and bank some parachute payments ASAP
I think the problem is that 3 stronger teams again will come down. Without the money from the PL how much are we going to spend? You’re looking at the likes of Southampton, Bournemouth.. Southampton for a start have a minimum £15-20m player in pretty much every position. They won’t lose ALL of them. And the money they do take in from selling some of their better players they’ll reinvest in good championship players like Burnley have.
Everton will 100% throw the parachute money at it, new stadium in the championship could be a disaster for them
If we have even half a chance to go up it's our duty to have a go. Hypothetically, if we went up. I wouldn't be too bothered about getting relegated the following season as long as we don't do what Forest have done and stick to our plan and continue to grow sustainably. With the riches even an unsuccessful campaign could bring we could build towards something a lot stronger long term.
My opinion is that he is class, not quite up to the pace of the game yet and not exactly sure about where he fits into the team, but he has a confident air about him, and looks like he is one of these players who can create space , where none exists, in fact much like Amad. When Evans came off against Boro I said before he crossed the sidelines this wont weaken us at all , and some laughed at the comment, did it ?. I dont think it did in the least. and that was not all down to Dan wonderful though he was. There is a lot of mixing and matching to do in the games ahead , and it would not surprise me that we will be the stronger for it by the seasons end, with Michut an important player in the scheme of things. If I am right the signing will be a forgone conclusion.
thats always the worry losing him all the good work so far will disappear very fast if we lose Stewart
I know what you're saying and not one of us wants us to be getting thumped each week in the prem, but if the chance is there for promotion we've got to take it. You never know we might surprise a few like in '99.
