Didn’t knowingly can’t be an excuse in this day and age. 2 small glasses of wine is 3 units and approximately 2 units is the legal limit
I've never ran anyone over but i did reverse into a lamp post when stone cold sober when i was about 20.
They want to be out there sorting out all the sobre people driving at 40 in 30 zones.. That's worse than being half a glass over driving 30 imo
Definitely I was out the other day and I don't think anyone was driving by the rules... women racing about on range rovers with kids in the lot .
Interesting that people think it's excusable simply because the punishment for capture isn't as severe as 2 glasses of wine. Both could take a life.
Exactly but it's acceptable to them... they need the law to tell them what's right or wrong ... I don't use the law as my guide
The law is the law but look at every situation on it's own merit. There's a difference between someone slightly over the limit due to an oversight vs someone who's driving home pissed after a night out. If he had drunk a quarter of a glass less he'd have been ok. There's a difference between being a toe over the line and being a mile over it. He was punished because he crossed a line that has to be drawn somewhere, and he crossed it, I just don't appreciate people painting all offenders with the same brush sometimes. He was only slightly over, he shouldn't be jailed or suspended for this. It's not severe enough of an offence IMO.
