Interesting read https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/hull-city-home-form-seri-8067479
I'm glad a player has come out and said something finally. I also think Seri has handled this as well as he could in saying it. We've all noticed much more comfortable performances away from home than at home and whilst the fans aren't the only factor it is clearly affecting the players. Even if you dont agree with playing out from the back its probably worth trying to support the boys come saturday and lets get back to that early season atmosphere again Also this is like the 3rd or 4th media appearance that really highlights Seri's leadership in the dressing room. Be interesting to see if he gets the armband next year
It's really bad in the North stand sometimes. People around me practically frothing at the mouth in their rage because Ingram has passed it to the full back. I don't understand why you'd keep coming every week and expecting them to suddenly stop playing the way they've set out to play. Even if you don't believe in the style, it can't be healthy or productive to get yourself into such a rage week after week over a style you knew full well we were going to play.
If the worked, at home. people would have some confidence in it. It could be argued that we have snatched 3 draws from defeat by playing differently when "Plan A" failed. Its also boring, frustrating and not entertaining.
Its boring because we've played teams that have sat in a low block and dared us to beat them. We need to play this style to try invite the press so we can create space because we dont have a fit number 10 kind of player. The only team that pushed us was Sunderland until they went down to 10 and I'd argue we played better than them for large parts of the game and they're pushing for the playoffs
Only for Hull FC, every visiting team always pass it forward, bloody biased refs. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Without a doubt there are many stupid brain dead idiots who for some weird reason decide to shout ridiculous 'tactical' stuff to the players all game long. Now that is 'grind your gears' stuff. Typically they know **** all about playing football. No idea how much of this the players actually hear (unless they're near the touchline). Probably the same at most clubs. However, the odd time I've been lately the atmosphere has been pretty flat, with not that much singing that would otherwise drown out or otherwise occupy these idiots. Earlier in the season, the team seemed to me to be too obsessed with playing out from the back. Thankfully Rosenior appears to have loosened his obsession and now we are seeing them mix it up. Not sure the atmosphere nor the attendance of vocal idiots will ever change for us, which is a shame not least as Acun (like most of us) wants a Palace or Leeds type atmosphere. I honestly don't think the latest move has or will help. If we aim to ever achieve our own proper 'kop / wall end' then something has to change - we currently in effect share it with away fans half & half. Unthinkable really.
The atmosphere has gradually got worse last few games at home due to the mind numbing football on display FACT I don’t need clever ****s on here, Not you, telling me what they’re trying to do I know exactly what it is but with no urgency whatsoever. The worst since little nige and I got to the point with his team that I didn’t want to leave the pub it was that boring. I can’t say I’ve heard tactical shouting?
Think the tactical shouting refers to the "gerrit forward" lot. I dont hear it a lot but its there. Think Seri is more referring to the audible groans when Ingram starts from the back Do agree though there is a bit more urgency needed in progressing but I suspect thats because our midfield is lacking in quality ball players right now
When I think about some of the things I shout, I do hope the neighbours or anyone passing by realise I'm watching football.
I agree with the first point . . . I think there has always been shouts from the crowd about tactics etc, but maybe the players don't hear it as it gets drowned out. The thing that I hear more is the audible groans whenever a back pass is made, usually from the back line between themselves - especially in the last quarter of the game when we are chasing a goal for the draw. I don't know what people expect tbh - if we keep the ball we've got a better chance of creating. If we lump it forward the only tall player is Oscar - against two big centre backs - and then more often than not, the ball comes right back at us, and we are still shaky defensively. Teams come to us, get an easy / soft goal then sit back. Last few times its been a back five and midfield four, and we struggle to break that down, without leaving it open for the counter. I'd like to see faster play and more work to create space that means there are more chances to break that 5/4 down. Definitely don't want the massively open games and teams putting 4 or 5 past us. If the crowd got used to encouraging rather than groaning it might make that bit of difference.
If you're gonna twat about at the back, do it faster. Faster! Faster!! Faster!!! Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! Oh for ****s sake, it's fizzled out like a damp squib once again. Just gerrit forward like you used to in the old days. That the type of thing, Dutch?
Oooh, it's marvelous watching how he can just curl one out straight into the box. Use your other foot.
