The one that really surprised me was the Reading guy at the top of the list - £89K a week. And I can't say that I had even heard of him.
Just had a look - Reading have two in that category - Baba Rahman on £89K is on loan from Chelsea and Jeff Hendrick on £50K is on loan from Newcastle. Our top earner is Hamza Choudhury on £61K.
How 'Real' are these numbers though....what is the source of the data they use? I genuinely do not know - hence the question
According to their website - "We strive to collate and maintain over 50,000 salaries from the worlds 7 largest sports, spanning the past 10 years. Our team trawls the internet for reliable sources on a daily basis to save you, our readers, the time! Spawned out of a University economics paper on the state of modern football wages, our founders were inspired to make the information they researched publically available and have maintained the database ever since. Please note we only accept salaries from: - Team/player press releases - Confirmed by widely circulate articles from top tier publications - Industry experts & team insiders - Accurately and reliably sourced encyclopedias & databases" So I guess some may be doubtful - looking at the page for Watford, some certainly seem questionable. If these are accurate, I'm surprised Bachmann is still with us, and not surprised Hungbo has left. https://salarysport.com/football/sky-bet-championship/watford/
I note many of these players are from the EPL and it's unlikely we are paying more than half their salary so when looking at Reading they are probably paying only about 20%, maybe more, of their 2 loans from the EPL.
I noticed Delefeou's knee is playing up. I hope he is ok but certainly he is playing in a league that is suitable for him and his injury. I believe that was why he went to Italy as he is now not up to the rigours of the EPL. So no transfer to Villa or elsewhere I doubt.
Seems Oli Phillips is quite unwell Fitting gesture by the club to honour him... https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...honour-former-watford-observer-sports-editor/ What a great man, who loves this/his club
Yes he seems to be at an end..... he gave so much to Watford football over the years... was a go to every week in the wobby
Likes of Pedro, Louza, Sema and Cleverley should be in full training and therefore potentially available in next two weeks. Andrew French
How to integrate them, withough breaking them again is going to be interesting to say the least. Also, we all know, performance wise, it's going to take a bit to get them up to speed again.
