Cracking player is Wes.. we nearly signed him in league 1 as he was getting no game time. But we ended up nabbing gradel off of you instead
Good player yeah but he should never be allowed to score a header from a corner. Max never showed enough consistency or maturity here thats why he moved on. We never doubted his ability Grayson got consistency out of him though, the only thing you did wrong was let him go on the cheap
It was actually clear he wanted to leave for a while, it's known he was wanting to leave before he actually handed in an official transfer request.
Maxi felt he owed the fans for his sending off on the last game of the season we were promoted! That all changed when he felt we owed him the chance to wear the white shirt, and when that starts to happen, you have to get rid! Gradel missed his family in france and thats fair enough. But the standard of the french league and the championship is easily on par! Apart from Lyon
apart from the fact, the dirty little **** was asking a bird for her phone number the same day he was saying sorry for leaving and it was for family reasons on twitter! dirty little ****er! ha ha
Proof please? Hate to rehash an old argument, but he was publicly asking for a contract offer during the transfer window. He obviously wanted to stay at United.
And Marseille, PSG, Lille and Montpellier... Fact is Ligue 1 is a better league. Max left for a better standard of football and that's what he's getting.
True, Though PSG are owned by money men! But lets be honest. Are Lyon & PSG any bigger than some of the teams in the championship? I mean look at say Rangers & Celtic, europe every year but are ****e in general! Paris are decent this year mainly because of Pastore, Menez etc but how well would some of these french sides cope in the championship?
he wanted to leave. The way i know it as is that we had an offer from a different french club for around the same or maybe even more than what st. ettiene offered but we said no because we wanted to keep him at this point. Gradel got wind of this and handed in a transfer request then st. ettienne came in. Ken bates actually took the blame off gradel to try to seem like the bad guy rather than make gradel look like a bad guy. (this is one of the things that i think bates is quite good at)
If he'd wanted to leave, he wouldn't have asked for a new contract. There's no possible motive for doing that unless you want to stay. None at all.
Despite enjoying our win, I'd never really lain awake at night wondering when we'd finally beat Leicester City.
But did he ever actually demand a new contract? He said he'd sign one if it was right, and every reliable, impartial source says "right" would have been £21k/w. When Snoddy and Becchio are on £11k that's absurd.
