I've always said results haven't been good enough. At the end of the day that's football. I feel he would have gone if he lost at Liverpool. I'm repeating myself here but once again. I've seen enough in the performances since the Liverpool game that we are a decent side. We should have more points than we have and from playing and watching football all my life it's just a matter of time until these performances result in points on the board. I'm gonna say again that the individual mistakes the players have inexplicably made (like your mate Aaronson against West Ham) have cost us dearly and we are world class at individual mistakes. That's not a coaching issue, that's a player issue and it has been for a while. A new manager will still have that player issue. Bielsa had it at the end. Some of these players have run their race. I thank them for their service but if you don't evolve then it's curtains. We all loved Bielsa but it was clear the dressing room had split by the end and the players confidence had taken a huge hit (some like Llorente haven't yet recovered). We were losing games within 15 minutes and the players had given up. Bielsa looked lost. The whole place stank and the club (regretfully) had to change the manager. If it gets to that under Marsch then sack him. I don't see that. The players look confident (apart from Struijk, Llorente, Firpo) and we look dangerous going forward with lots of power and pace. We dominate stats in almost every game. The weakness was at the back and still might be but Wober has started well and so far stemmed the flow of goals at our end. Fingers crossed on that. So yeah, he's no Mourinho, and long term he wouldn't be my choice to kick us on as I don't believe that he is coach of the year potential. But...in a spell where we are doing well but not quite getting results and things are getting fixed by the week I don't support a big change when there isn't a suitable replacement available. We're not getting Poch. The Sampiola guy is 2nd bottom of la Liga and has been there since October so he's not coming. Dyche has been relegated twice from this league already and would park the bus when e need points. So we're down to Gerrard, Lampard, Bruce, Benitez types to come in and save us. No thanks, I'll take the way we are playing knowing that the results WILL come IF we carry on playing like we are. Especially if Wober works out.
Agree. I know I'm seen as Jesse's biggest fan but I'm really not. I see the weaknesses in his system like everyone else. I see the defenders exposed. I also see defenders that should every now and then win a duel or two. I think Jesse will keep us up. We don't look like bottom three material when you watch other teams. We have to stop ****ing up as much as we do and we'll fly up the table. I'll also say that better teams than us have gone down.
A good defence of him but I can’t listen to anymore of his bull. He needs to start winning games for me now to convince me he is worth persevering with.
It's really difficult to see where the next win is coming from though. Not sure listening to Jesse he knows either.
It’s not that for me, I didn’t mind it to begin with but at the moment he is just all talk. In American speak, it’s time he “stepped up to the plate”. All talk and no walk.
Bring em back to ER for a replay. More tv money, gate receipts, beer sales etc. Always one step ahead Jammy.
Expressing an opinion on here, that Jesse may not be a completely useless cnut and at fault for everything that goes wrong with the team, is a bit like going on the ‘politics’ thread and expressing a view moderately to the left of genghis khan…. You’re labelled a Marxist snowflake faster than you can say Leon Trotsky
Not true though milky. I've always said that if we were to go down then Jesse would be brilliant in the Championship.
Well if we do go down, Jesse will have got us an extra season in the pl that we likely wouldn’t have had. So not all bad
