All positives from today. Another clean sheet. Meslier never tested but neither was there’s. Koch my MOTM. Genuinely think this is our best squad for two decades and compare that subs bench to even last season. Every one of them as good as what’s on the pitch. We’re giving everyone a good match and wins will come along with a decent cup run. Good job all

Checked a Brentford board and among all the moaning about a bent ref who gave them nothing there were some interesting points made.
They were unanimously delighted with the point and thought it was a great defensive performance. They think we are far better than our league position but most ofbthem want us to go down.
They are now 8 games unbeaten and that was their first game since 2020 where they didn't record a shot on target.
I also found out what constitutes a shot on target.
Only 3 teams have lost fewer games than them which is not surprising given how well organised their defence is.
Frustratingly they don't seem to be suffering 2nd season syndrome.
One poster was delighted to have got us out of the way because he thinks we'll kick on from here.
They do think we need a new manager though :)

Sometimes when a new guy arrives (wober) it gives the existing players a kick up the old proverbial. I only caught bits with buffering etc but koch looked to be really trying.

Koch was dodgy as **** 1st 20 minutes. Toney had him all ends up.

I think as we became more dominant Koch got a bit more confident and realised that Toney wasn't unplayable and started getting stuck in to him a bit more. All of a sudden he looked a decent centre half. It made such a difference having two aggressive centre halves that didn't care if they smashed through the back of players. So long as they weren't getting past them they didn't care today and it was so much better at the back. For too long we've been defending passively and I think Wober set the tone today. He's gonna get suspended a fair bit I'd imagine but he looks like a no nonsense centre half. Hopefully the likes of Struijk look at that and start being more aggressive.

We still haven't conceded whilst Wober has been on the pitch and long may that continue.

We got a point fair enough but I'm not satisfied we should have beaten them , Bamford was brought on too late , we have better players that did not play good enough

Martin Keown after listening to Jesse after the game:

“I don’t see any game management,” said Keown. “I don’t see any control. I think the manager has got good characteristics.

“But when you don’t win games, it’s like codswallop, isn’t it?! It’s just baloney. We are just hearing this propaganda. It’s like he is clinging on.

“They need to get results. There is a message, all the interview from the players is the same, there is momentum. We are building. We are moving in the right direction. Two wins in 16 games is not moving in the right direction.”

    Kieron Dyer:
Bamford looked really sharp when he came on… and you don’t bring him on until the 78th “You’re trying to win the match, it’s a home game you need to win your home games. You need a game changer and he didn’t bring on record-signing Georginio Rutter

I woke up this morning feeling happy with the performance then looking around at the news, those two snippets I’ve just posted hit a chord. As much as I dislike Keown and Dyer they’re right really. If I hadn’t looked at the table I’d have assumed on the performance we were playing a team below us, that game was for the taking, it really is two points dropped.

I’m getting like the Leeds players and Jesse, I’ve become so accustomed to not winning, a point feels great, it’s wrong

It’s not wrong. It was a good point against an In form Brentford side on a good run. We’ve just had a great result at Newcastle and unlucky at Villa. Two clean sheets in that. Squad is improving with every window. Ritter said he wasn’t fit enough. Did dyer bother to quote that. No cos he likely didn’t know. I don’t listen to any of these pundits either way. They’re footballers from a different era that know as much as we do. Ask yourself why are they not in coaching jobs themselves. Maybe even non league if they’re that knowledgeable.

You know more about the situation at Leeds than those two and yet you’ve allowed your mood to be influenced by their ill informed comments.

Have faith in your original judgement ristac in that you felt it was a decent result because you were right.
