Out of interest I've generated the rest of the fixtures for this season (minus the games that are yet to be scheduled) and come up with this: Some things I noted: Leicester and West Ham have a bitch of a schedule. Could be a relegation d-day between the two clubs on the last day of the season. I think Bournemouth have had it as well TBH. I've been realistic with my predictions for Saints and have included teams like West Ham and Forest picking up points at home to United and Spurs. The upshot is: it's going to be ****ing tight and far too early to give up hope!
8 teams failing to reach 40 points is highly unlikely imo. I'd also say that there's next to zero chance of any of Leicester or West Ham to go down. Both have far too much quality.
We'll see. There's always going to be a few shock results you can't predict but I reckon there will be more teams not reaching 40 points than ever before.
Could have just written: I am returning to @SouthamptonFC with my tail between my legs on a mission. I have been a bit of a prat slagging off Saints when it was really Ralph that pissed me off, and I hope the fans forgive me. Thanks for nothing AVFC as you never played me and I now have to eat humble pie.
If we go down, the biggest tragedy of all will be losing this man. Chances are, we retain the majority of our squad and go straight back up. But we lose not only our best player, but a player that defines what our club (should) stand for. The epitome of Saints.
I assume the follow up on all those were “they were losing games all the time before I arrived now we are hard to beat”
