It just ****s me off that SR are still ****ing about trying to play it clever. 19 days in to the window and still no striker. I'm sure they're rummaging around in their special computer to find a child with a decent sell on value though
They're not trying to be clever - they signed Orsic even though it was against their policy. But finding a good CF that a team is willing to sell for a reasonable price in January is easier said than done. Their big mistake was not signing one in the summer.
It is amazing how many struggle to get this. I know transfermarkt isn’t exactly a formal source but Bournemouth are apparently signing that winger from Lorient for 3 times his “value”. And that isn’t even a striker as far as I know. They look to be holding out for close to three times what that site says for Moffi as well and he has 18 months on his contract and half a season of a good scoring record. I guess it does kind of cast the Ings situation into light. They are apparently looking to sell him in January which is rather unusual but they do have a new manager who might just not want him. But it is a rare opportunity in theory. But the overall cost might just be too high - especially if West Ham and their seemingly bottomless pit of cash relative to their club stature in the league are competing
Plus I don’t get that Nicolas Jackson (see Saint Nicolas! thread), who has been likened to a young Sadio Mané, isn’t being seen as a striking option.
This is slightly weirdly worded. Are you saying Jackson should be considered a striking option or shouldn’t ? I think many are worried that he is given his goal record …
As a CF he hit double digits last two seasons, but has been playing as winger this season, which explains the heat map
