What a game that was, shame about the ending but think we kinda took our foot of the gas and we probably should’ve scored more with some of the chances we missed.

Think Meslier got lucky with the first being disallowed as he should be saving that but couldn’t do much about the others.

Kristensen the pick of the bunch in defence, very good going forward but it still remains to be seen if he can do that in the PL, Wober looked solid but again needs to prove himself in the PL. Shame about his injury as I’ve have stuck him in at LB for Sunday, hopefully he’s not out for too long.

Everyone else looked pretty good apart from probably Greenwood and Aaronson. Feel like it’s such a shame about Greenwood as he’s got a great long ball and corner on him but he can’t seem to make the simple passes, tackle or have much awareness but he’s still young so could improve but we could do with another more defence CM to utilise but he’ll make it as a half decent championship player at the very least and if he can improve the above he’ll do a lot more. Aaronson just needs to get stronger and pass a bit earlier. Also Gelhardt with a good assist but he needs some time on loan for games especially with all our attacking talent now.

Gnoto was a great buy and hopefully he can consistently do it which he is showing so far but he’s still young, if he carries on his form what a player we have. Selection dilemmas up front and they should all be pushing each other with what we have with Gnoto, Harrison, Bamford, Rodrigo, Summerville, Sinisterra & Rutter. Didn’t think Sinisterra was sharp but he’s missed a lot of games so will take a bit of time. I’d like to see Harrison start at the weekend as aside a shocking miss I thought he had a great game.

Why don't we try our defence up front then when they **** up the opposition will have further to run to score therefore tiring them out quicker....bingo <cheers>...... commiserations to shaks on his dad's passing it's tough but 95 is a long innings , many memories

I'd agree with the majority of that. I actually thought Greenwood did well though. I thought Roca played as well as I've seen him since the first few games of the season too.

The defensive frailties haven't disappeared though and it's still a worry going in to Sunday. We just can't stop making basic mistakes and it's almost like our entire defence are trying to outdo each others **** ups at this point. They seem to be taking it in turns.

****ty luck that Wober is injured. He looks like a solid defender. A bit old school and I reckon he will accumulate a few cards along the way but he seemed to read the game well and his positioning was good. It's only early bit hopefully he can prove to be a solid signing.

Cardiff were very poor, we shouldn’t really be able to pick out a bad player on our starting 11, even our worst would walk into that Cardiff reserve team. If those Cardiff 11 had to play for the remainder of the season they’d be in Division one.

With that in mind, it’s why I’m so disappointed in Firpo and Aaronson, they had a chance to look world beaters and they never grasped the opportunity. I thought Greenwood was okay, he under hit a few passes, one causing Wobers injury.

I tried to purposely watch Roca, he made a few mistakes, but those who say he does lots off the ball, I did witness that, he’s probably more useful than I gave credit for.

Going forward, I don’t feel we can accommodate both Roca and Greenwood, I don’t know how we’re going to select from Sinisterra, Gnonto, Summerville and Rutter when all fit. At least with two on the bench alongside Bamford it’s going to allow options

Firpo makes Barry Douglas look world class. Can’t believe we still don’t have a decent, specialist left back on the books. Wöber looks decent but he’s primarily a LCB and another who can ‘do a job’ at LB.

Having so many attacking options is great but it’s like driving a Maserati around with a flat rear tyre - and not bothering to change it.

    Makes no sense whatsoever.

i almost think it will take care of itself, Summerville, when back and Sini now, will be building up their match fitness by getting 30 minutes here and there, by the time they're ready, with how little protection they seem to get perhaps the others will have an injury or niggle too and will need a rest, if we progress another couple of rounds in the cup, squad rotation will be needed. We need cover for Adams and and LB and we could have a good second half to the season, just need to cut out the individual errors.
No matter how many times I see it, I still can't fathom out what Ayling was thinking for their first, have to put it down as a brain fart.
