I'll be happy if he sticks with the line of not returning to the EU, especially as my stance hasn't changed on it. My first thought is when Labour get in power, they will spend their time blaming the Tories rather than actually spending any money, so will not be able to live up to any promises - that seems to be shouting out to me loud and clear at the moment. I like the Labour idea of our own energy, but from what I gather it's all costed wrong, but even so, I still think to be self sufficient on our own energy has to be the way forward for the future. We need to become more self sufficient on so many things, importing stuff from the EU, China, America, Australia, wherever, has never struck me as a very green thing to do. I also think we should be investing in our Town Centres, what's left of them, get the cars off the road, rebuild local communities, public transport, another Green effort, and I wonder if Labour's plans of transferring power from Westminster, would be good at helping achieve that goal, if local communities could be encouraged to invest in the idea.
I think our town centres are finished, mate. Everybody up here rocks up at the retail parks that have sprung up all over and the town centres are being left to rot. You've also got internet shopping with the likes of Amazon where you can have anything delivered to your door the same day, if not, the next day. You can find everything on there that you'll find around the shops. I noticed it with my shop, that was just for advertising really and some weeks I just broke even on that part of the business. It was the website that made me. I wouldn't have survived without it. I tell anybody looking to go down that road to just create a website and rent a unit on an industrial estate to store their stock. I'd also like to see us more self-reliant. We've seen the trouble Germany are in having put all their eggs in one basket with Russia for their gas. That should be a kick up the arse for everybody to look more inwards.
Mick Lynch has been on some Westminster debate this morning (now finished), Mick has been batting the questions all over the shop, as though he's hitting 6's for England. The other two with Mick, don't have the same confidence and intelligience of ML, but have to say if I ever wanted anyone supporting me it would be him. Any Tories on the Commitee will be going away feeling a bit bruised and battered.
For the record, Grant Schapps is a slimy little weasel who should be drowned in the Thames along with every other Tory MP. The damage the Conservative Party have inflicted on the country in just 13 years is simply breathtaking, hopefully this will be the end of them now for at least a generation. ****s and ****ebags every lying bastard one of em.
So the bill they are pushing through could see striking nurses sacked. Well that’s a great way to treat the profession that’s understaffed in the NHS.
Threatening the nurses with the sack for striking. About 10 years ago I cut down my overtime at work and they threatened to sack me because they needed me in as much as possible. Lol.
think we spoke before you became a political activist. Finally you see the power of voting and how the ones who don’t vote, have such power.
Thanks mate. We're giving a couple of days to all the parents out there to look after their kids, remind them how they appreciated the work we did when they were stuck with them during the pandemic. They can teach them English and Maths all day. Good luck with that
