He does but its the way he specifically turned to look for Selles, suggested to me something specific rather than just normal celebrations. Either way, so good that they get on and work well together.
We've been here before, JWP is the one to lead us out of a dogfight. He's done it twice already in his shortish career. Pushing him up is effective but we are left with Diallo behind and with the best will in the world he will cost us vital points in the long run. AMN Ive got little faith in, his workrate and comitment so far has been beyond poor but could improve if he buys in. Alcaraz - an ok debut for him today, his movement and positioning was good and I'll see him getting goals for us in and around the box. Also, he's a fan of JWP and if they can build a good partnership we will be onto a winner - a rotating 4-1-2-3 at times would be a good option attacking. Solving the midfield puzzle will be key to survival IMO, cant keep looking for nod downs and flick ons by Adams.
I ****in love this club. I love this result. Absolute roller coaster as usual.what can you say. JWP. No idea why he gets so much stick. Unbelievable footballer. Carrying us right now. Saints legend
Looking at JWP's free kick again I don't think Pickford covered himself in glory. I don't know why he didn't dive for the ball TBH.
Well, main point was looking after Lavia but yes pushing JWP more forward is definitely key, together with DM support. RH couldn’t seem to manage; NJ seems to be getting more,
The last 3x games have dangled the carrot, the next 3x at home show the way I’m with you NJ, you weird Welshman.
Yeah can’t fathom BBC in sport, politics or whatever. Used to be my “go to”. Now I think they’re so, so playing the commercial card it’s comical. Shame. Laura … sorry, that went a bit tangent
Yeah, that wasn't one of JWP's best by any means and was definitely saveable but they must have watched Forest do it last week and screwed it up completely.
I give him stick, but it may have been harsh as he’s not a defensive midfielder and often gets shown up for it. He certainly is a good player when higher up the field where his defensive duties are more aligned to just pressing
I had to walk away from the radio commentary on Solent as it was too stressful to listen to! All in all, a great result albeit, from Match of the Day and some of the comments on the radio, I think this had as much to do with Everton being poor and missing their opportunities as Saints playing well. I do not think the atmosphere at Goodison helped the home team either. Like most fans, I would love to see Everton get relegated. It is a club where "good" players will never be able to perform well. If you want to ruin your career, they are the club to choose. Not sure that they will go down this season as there are so many other poor sides. After the Forest match, I have been shocked that we have turned the ship around in the following week. Just feels like a missed opportunity to have put some distance between us and the other teams. As i said in August, the current squad was good enough to be mid-table and I just hope that the second half of the season sees the team click and get out of trouble.
