Totally agree with you mate. He has come on so much in the last 12 months and will only go from strength to strength. As you said all.players make mistakes, it would be like coming on here and saying stewart is crap if he misses a sitter
I don’t at all, I just take delight in know it all gobshites being proven wrong. The 2 players I’ve mentioned costing us points week in week out, who people seem to absolutely love - one gets sent off for a needless tackle and the other has a howler for 2/3 goals.
If you think Patto was at fault for 2 goals today, then of course you're going to think he's costing us points every week... it doesn't prove that you're correct in anyway, it just suggests that your expectations of goalkeepers are unrealistic. You're literally seeing what you want to see.
Sorry I actually watch the match with my eyes open so I can see which players make the same mistakes that cost us week in week out just because someone’s a local lad doesn’t mean they can’t be critiqued you ****ing fanny.
Howler for which goal explain that to me please? If you mean the 3rd goal it's the pace of the shot that beats him and the lad who scored should have been closed down well before he got his shot off. You just seem to come on here every game and want to have a go at Patterson. The kid will be the best GK we've had since Pickford.
So you take delight in players making mistakes? As i said that is pathetic. Onien made a mistake today yes but hes been class this season - and im not his biggest fan ability wise. Patterson doesnt cost us points week in weeek out as you say. The blackburn game for example he made a huge save to keep the score at 1-1 Nothing wrong with having opinions on players but to take delight in players making mistakes for our club is totally pathetic
3rd goal he’s beaten at his near post whilst he’s stood on it and 2nd goal the ball is put right across the 6 yard box and he goes to come for it then changes his mind. If you think he’s not to blame then I’m not sure what to reply, you’re either stupid or blind.
Absolutely fine to comment on how players play, just really weird behaviour to take joy in players you don’t particularly like making mistakes. You ****ing fanny
Couldnt agree more, he jumped on here the min the 3rd goal went in to take joy from the fact that patterson could have done better
The one where he was "beaten at his near post" was deflected - the ball was going the other way which he was setting himself for. I'm not suggesting it was impossible to stop, but it wasn't a gaffe. The 2nd goal he was in exactly the right position for but Batth decides to slide in ahead of him and clear it straight into their player. You're clearly a proper thickie so I won't bother attempting to converse with you any more on the subject.
It’s funny because I agree with him that we as fans will comment on some players playing bad more than others, it is just the fact like you said that he was on here straight away lapping it up
so you must be right and everyone else on this board is wrong, its all about opinions and yours is in a minority but its your opinion so in your eyes that is right, just pleased I don't have your eyes
All players make mistakes and the one player it will stand out is the keeper. Players use instincts but outfield players help recover an instinctive mistake, a keeper make the wrong instinctive choice he hoping someone on the line to help out. A good keeper is about positional sense, Patto is still learning his trade and still hasn't worked with the same back 3/4 week in week out which is important for keepers but not managers. I am an ex keeper the one area l didn't like was near post as you start point is a difficult angle to make any type of proper save but you would know that if you have played there. Give the lad a bit if slack he is one of our own.
Here’s the highlights - if you still can’t see how bad his positioning is for their second then I really don’t know what to say to you. He doesn’t know whether to come or go, even though there’s absolutely no chance of him getting anywhere near the ball and in the end just stumbles forward. If he stayed on his line he just collects the deflection no problem whatsoever. https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/12786632/sunderland-1-3-swansea-championship-highlights
