    Good Morning All

A big sigh of relief, nobody can say its boring being a Leeds fan. Listening in on the radio, the last ten minutes lasted an eternity!

Its gonna keep the lesta wums away for a few days, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm warming to a few of em. They seemed to take the loss in good spirits, so, fair play to em.

Can you remember the very first football match you went to, and where. Mine was when I was 8 or 9, my fathers old business partner was a Pompey season ticket holder, and he was good enough to take me along to Fratton Park when they were Playing Leeds. Pompey were top of the table at the time, and leeds were in the bottom half. Leeds were one nil down at half time, but we went on to win 3-2. The Pompey fans were not impressed.

    Song of the day anyone

Mine was when a mates dad took me to see Leeds away to Ipswich, I was behind the goal with the Ipswich fans which was strange. I think it was 1982, I know it was the year we got relegated, Ipswich had the likes of Mariner playing for them, if I remember right Leeds took a 1-0 lead but went down 2-1 second half.

**EDIT** Just researched the stats, it was a 2-1 defeat for Leeds but I saw something live that not many Leeds fans can possibly say they saw - A PETER BARNES goal !! Almost as rare as a Brolin goal

Morning all, great result yesterday. Good solid performance all round. Good to see the defence having such confidence in the goalie. Any chance we can buy him in the january window?

First match? That'll be Leeds v Wimbledon in the FA Cup replay at Selhurst Park in the 70s. We won eventually on a less than wonderous pitch.

    Morning all :emoticon-0102-bigsm

First Leeds match? Its a long way for a home match for me so I don't make it very often. 1981 v Everton a 1-1 draw at ER, followed by a 3-0 win over Wolves on the Tuesday night. Thats it until 2007, a 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers, so I've not been at a losing home match. Plan to be at the West Ham and Florist games in March to keep the good record going.

Ristac, funny you should mention PB. He was the big name buy when we were there. Our host who took us to the match told us the shirt sponsor (RFW) meant he was Right #ucking #anker.

I noticed the retro shirt from that year available at the superstore http://www.lufcsuperstore.com/productlist.asp?parent_id=4&sub_id=19

Around 1986 v Aston Villa at Elland Road. Even back then I could see Gary Williams was amongst the worst ever players to pull on our shirt.

They must have been pretty **** if they couldn't score even when we played OB at the back! But what will it mean for our centre backs after a clean sheet, will Lees get straight back in?

Ben, you can't use the word fat on here <laugh>.

Who remembers Graham's last game in charge before he went to spurs. The weekend before he left, we played spurs, when Leeds scored Grahams expression was emotionless whilst Ridsdale, sat next to him was jumpin around like tigger

As much as being a dick for the way he went, he set some great foundations for O'leary especially with the acadamy products from Wilko & Hart's top set up. I still think we'd have about gone all the way if Ridsdale hadn't spashed the cash. We didn't need Fowler, Johnson, Keane or even wobbly lipped idiot Rio for the amount of money thown at getting them.

I've just said the same thing Ben. AOB was a different player from the first game of the season. I know players get fitter the more they play. But yesterday just highlights how unfit AOB was in that first game. Seems now that we really have 3 competing for 2 spots, with Bromby quick enough to cover for anyone should they get injured or we need pace at the back if Lees is not on the pitch.
