I have to be honest and say I felt exactly the same but as you went public I felt quoting it was an opportunity not to be missed.<ok>

Last night I took the dog out :emoticon-0177-toivo at 8 o'clock, came back, went for a shower and didn't even bother to check the score. Mrs Game came up with a coffee and said "I've brought this up so you won't have to go back on the internet and get all upset (Mrs Game likes her little jokes).
    I said "How many?"
    "2-0"
I said "Oh, is that half-time?"
"No, that's only after about half an hour, I don't know what the score is now." The minx.
She now thinks it's time to put me out of my misery and says " Djenepo and Mara". But because in my mind we were losing, I heard Mara as Mahrez.
Me "Oh right. This could be anything now."
She realises that I'm still not getting it and says "2-0 to Saints".

Silent pause. No comprendo, but the penny finally drops. "Really?****in' hell!"

Like every other Saints fan we spend the half time break discussing all the possible permutations, non of which includes a Saints win.
Didn't check score again until game ends just in case.

Saints win against City. A quick check of my pulse, I'm not in the afterlife.
Find every match report to bask in the glory and have not misunderstood the scoreline. Read the BBC HYS to find out what the rest of the country's football fans are thinking (they love us). Go back over not606 to see if anyone has made any comments that can be reposted in order to throw it back at them. (only found one).
Go to bed at 2 o'clock.

She could have done Gary but the choice of sleeping at home or in a shop doorway probably swayed it.

I do agree, but I never thought we would beat Liverpool over 2 legs either (queue music).

There have been questions on why the game was not a sell out last night.
    Well:-

    a) Some fans considered £20 too much for a Cup game of little importance.
    b) We haven't been doing very well and many thought the result was a foregone conclusion.
    c) The weather was absolutely foul, and there were transport issues.
    d) It was live on Sky.
    e) Some thought it was a way to make a point about our choice of Manager.

Has anyone got any other excuse for not being there?

That's a reason, not an excuse, subtle difference!

Quite possibly the best I've felt at a home match since lockdown. So many great things to say about it. Rather than list them all though, I'll just say that it was probably the best I've ever seen Djenepo and it was brilliant to see JWP back playing well.

Pretty much everyone was a candidate for MOTM, but by a tiny margin I gave it to DCC.

It is though only one game. We can't be following it up by losing to Everton.

Just rewatched the game on catch up and so impressed with so many different things.
DCC seemed to have a calming effect on Lyanco and Salisu.
Our refusal to be pushed back and invite them onto us, our downfall in so many previous games.
Reference the previous point, I think Adarma stayed as far forward as he could which meant that their CBs couldn’t wander forward and add to the pressure. It also meant that when we did welly the ball clear he was harrying the defenders and stopping the ball coming straight back, giving us time to reorganise and for our midfield to step out instead of sitting on top of the defence.
And the added time. When have we ever seen out a game as comfortably as we did those last 6 minutes?

Given the stadium was a little sparse, incredible! God I've missed that feeling

I still can't quite get my head around the difference between the Forest performance (which wasn't isolated) and last night. One of the big differences being each player playing at 90+% of their full capability rather than 25-50% in most other games under NJ. The players gave us enough to cheer about early on that we returned the favour throughout the game, helped by the fact we were significant underdogs. And Citeh had an off game - their first game without a shot on target since Apr 2018 is telling.

We've always been capable of raising our game against the big teams. The next 'winnable' Prem games are the real litmus test. I worry fan's expectations for Everton don't factor in our shocking record at Goodison - there are clearly reasons (psychology being a big one) we don't pick up points there.
